Theres likely someone on here that could do it for a better price than a shop and do a better job. Ive done a bunch of them for guys in the northeast.

Try to find your alignment specs first and post them up if you can. You can most likely solve that with an alignment and not cut/weld on the truck again. The UCA's you put on the truck adding caster actually hurt you since UCA's push the tire closer to the cab mount. Maxing out caster on the LCA cam bolts is going to push the tire farther away from the cab mount.

Pushing the spindle farther out will make it worse too (same as adding offset or wheel spacers). Less offset (0 to +10) could help you depending on how close your tire is to the UCA but that would mean new wheels and those aren't cheap.

TBH I can't comment entirely on the maxtrac spindle lift as all the rigs we've built or worked on have been 4x4s so thats not an option for us. But as is, I see things in regard to the spindle that could both help and hurt rubbing. The lift spindle would effectively limit the tires ability to move up into the wheel wells by the amount of lift they offer which could help. The added offset of the spindle however would add steering scrub radius which would effectively allow the tire to angle back into the lower fender/body mount area more when steering than the stock spindle does, but also move the location of the rubbing farther out as well which would benefit your short CMC.

True. I checked this guys rig on IG @ryans_taco and I believe he doesn’t even have a CMC done. He rig got the spindles and king 2.5 combo. He abuses the s**t out of his truck too. I might think about getting into the spindle route.

Is this after a recent alignment? Provided the 'Actual' is the after, they made it worse. You want to be in spec for everything but above spec for your caster to help clear the cab mount. I'm running 4 degrees. This is why it's important to go to shops that understand what you ask them to do and understand how these trucks align.

Also, that cab mount chop is almost pointless. It looks clean, but nowhere near enough was cut. This is my clearance at full lock with my CMC using the Total Chaos plates (17x8.5 -10, 285/70):

Yeah, they made it a lot worse. Sadly, you'll have to pay for another alignment since they put it in spec but yeah, they pushed that LCA as far back as possible to reduce the caster. The good news is, you have a lot of room to go to add caster and help with the rub a lot. No need to re-cut.

Thats why I do them with an angled step in them, started doing it that way years ago and now most people do that that way now. I dont think I was the first one but I hadn't seen them like that before I started doing them that way since I make my own plates.

This is on a 4R BTW.
Here is one I did recently

Brother I will show this photo to the guy that is about to do my cab mount (again) next week. It’s a different shop but they have a lot of Tacoma job done before. He said whoever did it was too afraid to chop too much (avoiding the actual mount). lol SSD Motorsports is the shop I will be going to. It’s crazy because he is even charging cheaper than my recent shop. I will never go to a “commercial” shop again. lol

The angled chop/plate looks better and functional since the first thing the tire hit is that pesky bottom lip. Nice work

I was cheated. I am actually getting it redone by another shop. This time an actual offroad shop not 4WP (oops don’t mean to name drop). I will have them fix the caster as well. They are charging half the price too.

Yeah definitely definitely get that alignment adjusted. You shouldn't need a cmc to clear your set up. Every vehicle is different but I have less than ideal uca specs for clearance and I was able to clear my cab mount.

Post wheeling trip no witness marks on the cab mount even with all that mud build up

Good deal! And thanks, a buddy and I did it at work one weekend. I could have cleaned up the welds but I kind of like it looking modded. It's sooooooo nice not to have any rubbing anymore. I always thought this setup wouldn't need a cmc but even with high caster it still found ways to rub. The front bumper is also trimmed a hair, pinch welds folded flat and took a heat gun to the wheel well liners to reform them a bit and make them less bulgey. I should be able to clear 34's now, which I'll be doing next time around. Good luck with the next shop man!

Not a very good chop. Mine was pretty rough too, just went with a relocation eventually. Only way to really solve the problem.
