Some dcm software before the updates were draining batteries on Tacomas and rav 4’s.

In relation to batteries, I got a $40 off coupon for a TrueStart battery at my local dealership that expires at the end of the month, so I did some math. MSRP is about $315 (so $275 after discount) for the TrueStart, but I can get a regular Interstate for $125, or an AGM Interstate for $180 at Costco. No way the True Start is worth spending an extra $100 or $150 right? My battery is the original I think (my truck is a 2019) but hasn’t shown any signs of dying yet.

    Yeah.
Be sure to recheck torque according to instructions, mine were loose. And I hope you cut those bolts down a bit . . .

Would be interested to hear your take on the Rides after you have a chance to use them a bit.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
UV has nothing to do with it, it's to catch brake fluid that weeps through the breather on the cap when the fluid gets hot. They don't come on stock bikes, they would if UV affected brake fluid...or the reservoirs wouldn't be translucent.

It's kind of interesting how when I've been away for a while I come back here and the pages I am behind are getting less and less. There's only so much s*** you can do to your truck and I guess on this generation we are reaching the end of that line. That said I still do look forward to coming here and getting nuggets now and then.

Where can I get these? Mainly for my power steering reservoir... I try and keep under the hood looking good and clean up under there every oil change, but the silver P/S reservoir on the 4cyl gets stained and tarnished.. I would like to grab one of these HKS socks to hide it just as long as there are no determental effects.

Thanks for clearing that up.. I guess it serves a purpose, but in this case it's just mainly for looks. I had to know what it was and what purpose it served. Thanks again.

Mounted ARB 2m awning using their universal brackets w/ gusset and the UpTop tracnuts.

by the way.. anyone know torque specs for both the tracnuts to roof rack & for the awning to bracket? I went 20 in-lbs for tracnuts and 50 in-lbs for awning to brackets. Can’t seem to find any torque recs online but this feels plenty solid without over torquing

No, I think if I removed the fender box it might get a bit louder, maybe. I’m running just a dry afe drop in. Nothing is open. You CAN hear the air moving through the head to the lce header, but it’s not open filter throaty. Watch it rix.

Google reservoir socks, there are tons to choose from. You can probably order Toyota wrist bands if you want to keep it brand loyal. They list the HKS ones as socks.. they don’t fit perfect. I don’t want my power steering canister getting pitted from salt so at least half of it is covered..
