I’m 6’3, 250lbs in an access cab. Not the roomiest truck in the world but I’m not cramped at all, and I have seat jackers in the front. Not sure what you’re looking for space-wise out of a midsize.

Curious, does your access cab have a sunroof? I'm 5'11" and I'm ok in my 23' but my head is close to the sunroof frame when I raise up the seat to give my hamstrings a break on a long drive....I have electric seats...

Thanks - we had it built for my wife and her sheep (Christmas Present)...we have another Horse barn. My wife designed it and had the stairs (pictured) on the back for me. I have very bad knees and the staircase she designed makes it easier for me to get up to the second level.

Pretty confident you will not regret getting an OTT tune... also confident when you do, you will regret not getting it done sooner.

Id buy again, especially after I added the old man emu spacer($45) for the drive shaft... It made the transmission not clunk at all when driving slow and the truck feels like im driving a completely different truck without the clunking at low speed stop and go... also the OTT tune was a must.

Yes but would have loved a long bed TRD OR manual transmission. I couldn’t find one and was getting near November of 2023, so I settled for an automatic DCLB TRD OF. Traded my 2020 SR5 short bed for it. Love my truck and plan to run it until the wheels come off.

I'm similar to you in that I wouldn't be driving a tacoma if it didn't come with a stick. With that said, I'm sure the 4th gen drive great and some of the new features are fantastic/surpass the 3rd gen. For me the two hang ups are knowing I can't get the highest trim with a manual and knowing it has to be the smaller engine to have a manual too (similar situation with the Bronco). Along with the mild annoyance of having my 3rd gen built out and having to start over again.

Hmmm I would have to say maybe. Im happy with my 2020 trd pro. I would consider a 4runner though as having more usable space vs a bed makes more sense for me at this srage in my life

I get it, but personally I do not care about having top trim nor top engine. As long as the engine is good, I don’t care if another one exists that is better. Pro or non pro I literally do not care about; I already don’t have a pro and am not missing out. I don’t even like the way the pro looks anyways, the blacked out thing isn’t for me. So it still ends up working out. Main thing is I don’t want to lose my ass on trade in, only reason I still have the 3G. Other than that, this truck would be gone. I’m also lazy and just riding this one out for a while.

Absolutely, with or without OTT Tune. I'm in a 2023 manual and I absolutely love it. Truck is plenty quick for my needs, offroads tougher than my friend's Jeep Sport, and is a joy to camp in. My only complaints are the back seat is cramped and the gas mileage sucks. Definitely a step up from my 99 2wd and is much nicer than my friend's 2015 Tacoma. I also test drove a 2024 and walked away realizing I made the right choice in buying a 2023 as opposed to waiting for the 2024. But to each their own.

I’m being forced to make that choice. After a truly terrible experience with Caliber Collision, after a deer strike, my vehicle is in our local GM Collision Center (My friend is the Service Manager there.) being torn down a second time to see if it’s even repairable at all. I’m not likely to keep it after having the frame yanked back and forth twice, so I’m going to have to find something else even if it’s repaired. One of the whole reasons I bought my ‘23 was that it is the last year of the 3rd Gen. I don’t want to buy used, so I’m kind of screwed.

I drive my vehicles for a long time. When switching vehicles I like change or something better.

I love my 3rd gen but buying one again is just a lateral move.

Running this thing until the 5G's come out then making it my full-time wheeler.

Can you tell me more about this spacer and the outcome? I found it online... but I had not heard about this as a solution to the clunk before.
Does changing the angle with the spacer at that bearing takes care of the clunk completely?

I have the stock suspension (with the factory Pro 1" lift)

This clunk is the biggest issue I have. It is just noise and pretty benign - but it is a bit annoying. Thanks.

I would yes, but I would buy higher trim or trail hunter. Really would appreciate leather heated seats

I believe OP is asking would you buy again if you could go back when you initially brought it.
