Yep, I told him to just buy the SCX24 motor mount.

I had remembered your problem when I saw his and wondered if you were sent the wrong stuff too.

Seems the 3 of us have all suffered some sort of issue here and there with our builds.

Getting a slow speed buzz out of the Mini now. :(
It's only under a load, (steep hill climb or any obstacle) at slow speed, seems to be struggling until more throttle is applied, then it takes off smooth. Slowing it down from there it remains smooth, then goes back to buzzing.
In both forward and reverse, doesn't matter if it's the front or rear under load. Does it with both 2s and 3s.
Doesn't appear to be a bind in the axles as the driveshafts don't jump or twitch around, just the motor buzzing and you can feel it in the bell.

Seems to have started around the time I put heavier wheels on it, then it got worse with the printed body. Body off it's not as bad, but still there. Overall, it seems to be getting worse.

Those square platforms you 3D printed out, I found those plans and more and many are over 784" square which leads me to ask - what dimensions are you using for a 1/24 scale exactly?

I don't have a 3D printer so I'll have to pay someone to print them for me, but I need to tell them what size to make them and I don't want to go too big or too small for my own rig.

You should check your local library. Mine prints files for the cost of the filament

I could look online or go in-person to see if they have one.

They have lots of small events (for children) but I never see anything else posted.

Funny you say that cause I do have a library card for the place. Small town of 5k people though so....

It's bomber fabrication day. Going to have to charge a battery and rip the RR 10 around a bit today at lunch.

I haven't printed them yet, but the models I was looking at said they were for 1:18 & 1:24 scale, so I didn't think too much about it and would have just printed it as is. Might be a bit challenging for the 1:24, but meh. The .stl should be in mm units, usually, and just print 100% from that.

I'm starting to think either my rigs too heavy or I have a faulty motor/esc. Tore everything down, moved down to a 23% overdrive from 33% up front. Greased every gear, oiled every bearing, redid motor to trans mesh, removed diff skids and put original diff covers back on. Motor is slightly quieter with the grease but it feels/looks like it's lacking the torque to keep wheel speed and starts to squeal a bit. I've gotta really get on the throttle sometimes and even then the truck struggles to move. Gonna try reducing some weight to see if it helps. Nothing in the driveline is getting bound up. Even got the worm gears to work properly again. Do you folks know how much your rigs weigh so i can compare? Gonna throw on the factory cvd axles and knuckles to see if it makes any difference. If not I have a back up plan on the way

I see 400g to 600g rigs get posted on FB and if they were killing motors I'm sure we'd hear about it?

One of the guys at my local hobby shop has 4WS and it weighed significantly more than my rig (when you pick each one up).

Hmm I'll get a weight in a sec...

I too am interested in weights. I think you guys are heavier than me with full metal axles and heavier wheels.
That being said, my scale tops at 500g and I'm over that. I'll have to strip the wheels later and do some math.

Yes sir. I bought it to have as a back up to my main rig.

But interestingly enough, I guess the hardware kit wasn't needed?

    20250207_091327.jpg

I know bolts are mostly interchangeable as they're all the same pitch, just different lengths.

I guess the only important ones are gonna be the 4 short ones for the diff cover, with the shortest bolts of all used to hold the axle shafts.

This was before I added heavier knuckles up front.the knuckles currently on the rig are 22g a piece so adding 44g puts me around 512g

Edit: forgot I also need to subtract the knuckles that were taken off  LGRP states their knuckles are 8-10g each. So im closer to 490-500g. I'll weigh when I get home from work

    Rig minus battery

    20250207_091655.jpg

My 180mah battery is 15g and my 350mah battery is 25g so total weights are 468 and 478g respectively.

552g, no battery or body. Battery brings it up another 25g. Might go back to the lighter wheels as mine is struggling too. It'll still be above 500g though. Talking with the hobby shop guy this morning, he said to recalibrate the TX to the ESC, I'll try but don't have high hopes for that.

How in the hell is mine so much heavier with hybrid axles and a shorter frame?

I think some of my Injora tires perform better than the LGRP Black Labels but the BLs sure do look awesome

    @Strictlytoyz

First impressions of the LGRP vs Meus seeing as how I completely disassembled them recently.

The tolerances are tighter on the LGRP, specifically the machining in the housing where the worm gear sits.

There's no side to side slop like there is in the Meus, which really doesn't affect anything as it doesn't move laterally once assembled. Just something I noticed.

The negative is that one of the holes is either built up with crud or not threaded in all the way. I think it's the latter of the two because nothing comes out after stabbing it with a pick and any of my bolts struggle going past this point -

    20250207_101138.jpg

It's only on that one hole that holds the bearing in place so I'll leave it as is.

Also, I initially assembled things with both o-rings on the worm gear as they provide two.

I couldn't get the axle to spin freely with both o-rings so I removed the one towards the driveshaft and it spins free. Feels nice and tight too.

    20250207_101123.jpg

I'll have to toy with upper mount bolts cause the supplied hardware doesn't hold the mount in place firmly. It wiggles loosely even after tightening the two bolts.
