That's a horrible idea. What time?
From our lot it's a 45 minute drive. It is something I want to check out.

Our developer said were some old mining trails and some respectful wheeling friendly private trails near us. Haven't looked into Onx yet, but I am curious to see what's up on the plateau.

I really like AOP. Although I wouldn’t recommend it without a locker or two and 35’s

I might have a problem them. 32's, open diffs, and a manual. Although I do tend to keep up.

I'm gonna be road tripping to Tennessee around August, and I would love lake recommendations to bass fish. I won't have a boat (unless maybe a lake offers dingy rentals), so pretty much bank fishing.

I think I'm going to be in the Dunlap / Chattanooga area toward the end of the week to do some work on the property. I'm also thinking about some easy trails at AOP. For those who have been there, is it a safe venture for a single truck with a winch? How is cell coverage in the park? Most of us tend not to solo here as most trails have no cell coverage.

Truck is an 18 MT Sport, 3" lift, KO2's on 16x9 wheels.

I'm gonna hit Nashville one night and just explore the rest of the time (7 days probably). Im interested in camping out of my truck (campgrounds) and bass fishing. I read lake chickamauga is great, but I wanna hear from those who know the state. Do you recommend areas north, south, east, or west of Nashville.
    Thanks for any input

I’ve honestly never fished that far west. I live within 5 miles of three really good lakes and can be on four others within 45 minutes so I never ventured that far. I’d look into Dale Hollow lake if I were staying around Nashville.
Chicamagua is a great bass lake that produces some really big fish. One of my favorites.

AOP has a definite lack of "easy trails" compared to other parks. Especially when the maintenance gets behind after big events. Cell coverage is decent, but I would absolutely suggest going with a buddy.
Windrock is much better to explore solo, they have a lot of easier overlook trails, and better maintenance.

Like Justin said, I would not do AOP solo and it definitely doesn’t have a bunch of “easy trails”. The main trail to get up the mountain to the actual trails is a monster itself depending on how much maintenance they’ve been doing.

Thanks for the input. I think I will wait in AOP. Maybe next time a group heads there I can ride shotgun and get a look.

When we did Windrock, there were a few things that were beyond anything I had experience doing, including a boulder garden. Maybe I'll just hit the cross over trails up there for the day to get my fix. The easier and safer trails here are currently closed. The others are still iced over so we just don't go this time of year.

What's up guys - going to be moving to Chattanooga soon. Have a 3g Tacoma with some basic mods.

Excited to enjoy all the outdoors TN has to offer.
