I.dont use them, I use a climbing stand that my feet stay in at all times.
The thing about the climbing sticks; gotta keep an eye on them cause squirrels will chew thru the straps.

That’s what we use, pretty safe actually. We wear safety harnesses with a lanyard that attaches to a lifeline that goes from the bottom of the climbing sticks to above the stand and if you slip or fall at any point you won’t hit the ground.
