I have seen the upper mount for the front strut assembly wear the bushings and the strut shaft saw its way into the upper strut housing. You should be able to take the upper nut up enough to slide the busing up to see if this is it.

Another vote for it potentially being a wheel bearing. I had a front wheel bearing that would clunk on my 02 Tacoma. Had no idea wheel bearing made that noise and didn’t whine when they were bad.

The Energy Suspension poly bushings are fine too. The only bushings it seems like OEM is important for are the engine and transmission mounts that need to have the right resonant frequency to absorb the engine vibrations, while other bushings can be anything in good shape. But I could be wrong.

OP does thus truck have any history of ever having had the lower control arm bushings replaced?

Is it possible that it could be my driveshaft? I've heard that an ungreased slip yoke can make a clunking sound when shaking around too much, lately I have been noticing a Bigger 'thud' when putting it in gear, and the common jerk when stopping and starting. I have jacked up both of my front wheels to check for bearing play and they are both tight, my sway bar bushing are pretty bad, but they aren't the cause of the noise, since the sound would happen everywhere.

I do not think its that. I have aftermarket ICON coilovers in the front, so there is no strut up front. everything I have check has been tight

i believe they were replaced not too long before I bought it, i pulled the wheels off to do brakes a few months ago and everything was tight, no wiggle or play in anything

That could be the case. Look up Timmy the Toolman's YouTube video on how to properly grease the slip yolk (the zerk doesn't really properly lubricate the splines, it needs to be pulled apart in order to properly grease it).

That ford grease is good stuff, I recently performed the slide yoke greasing following Timmy’s video. Worked out great. No more slide yoke clunk.

So I went under the truck, and the carrier bearings got a decent bit of play, you'll see in the video, I also took a hammer with a rubber grip and knocked on different parts of the truck with the phone recording the inside sound, and the bumping from the carrier seems to sound the most similar, what do y'all think?https://youtube.com/shorts/BoTSstaOx_o?si=jV9LubmIjRWombaS - carrier bearing play, https://youtube.com/shorts/0BMaTNpLQSs?si=nLtczSc3AQflZko9 - knocking on carrier bearing cab sound. I think with that bearing and enough jumbling around I think it'll make the same noise

Check your transmission mount. I've read the bolts are notorious for backing out. I recently noticed 3 of the 4 on my taco are missing.

found some very good n' large pics of this very area here

Front cross member | Tacoma World

i have a broken welded nut for the bottom engine undercover aka 'skid plate' that i am trying to figure out how to DiY repair... and it is not aligned properly for some reason
unfortunately it does not appear that the front cross member sub-assy is the correct part that the undercover attaches to :(
which i think is this part... CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSY, FRAME AUXILIARY

If they were the rear wheel bearings, would there be a rattling or squeaking sound if I were to lightly tap the tires?

I would suggest taking a good look at the front and rear shocks. I'd take one or both of the coilovers out and make sure the lower bushings aren't hosed. And just make sure the rear ones are still attached. I've see the upper eye come off the stud, or the stud itself break, and then the shock hits the bottom side of the bed.

I don't think so, no. Bad bearings typically cause vibrations, growling/howling, or clunking, but not rattling or squeaking
