I should look at the telemetry some more, never seen that.

I still plan to go to the Hobbyshop to practice some lines today so I'll keep an eye out and see if I notice a voltage drop.

I have my voltage cutoff at 3.5v cause I don't wanna damage the batteries. As soon as I get that drop to 7v the esc becomes none responsive. Sometimes the throttle eventually comes back but not always and I have to turn it off then back on for it to work again.

I have noticed this exact thing. I don't have telemetry, but it's apparent the increase in power draw kills it thru the lvc setting. The ESC from the factory came with 3.0 lvc, which is way too low. I settled on 3.2 lvc, which is still too low, but it stopped it from cutting out.

I ended up dropping my lvc to 3.3 since the battery manufacture recommends not draining the cells below 3.3v per cell 6.6v total. Still cuts out, once that demand kicks in its lights out for the esc. Took a little screen recording of the voltage drop and then you can see data just freezes, that's when the lvc kicks in. Temp data goes crazy too once the lvc kicks in.

That is the coolest thing ever! I may upgrade for that alone.
I currently weigh in with the Yota body/3s battery at 615 grams.
Going back to the lighter wheels will get me to 575 grams.
Frame, motor, and axles alone are 257 grams.
Wheel and tire set are 290 grams.
    Yota body at 43 grams.

Ran mine a bit ago outside for first ever serious shakedown run.
With the bug body it did fine until the edge of the body got caught up on the edge of a rock.
It's level with the sliders, but extends out about 4mm each side. I have no intention of cutting it up.
Removed the 4 bolts that hold the hinge on (sigh)
and flipped the Yota body on it.
It's only 13g heavier. And tight to the sliders. Ran the same course/line and made it thru with no problems. This thing does stuff the FCX won't do. Sidehill is amazing, slow speed crawl is awesome now that it works. All on 3s with no glitches. Steering servo did ok for only being 3.2kg/cm and only bound once. A stronger servo may have ripped something off, so it stays for now.
I'll redo the bug body rear mount and lose the hinge so it goes full mag so I can switch back and forth without turning screws.

Definitely a neat feature. I also like how you can make adjustments on the fly. Looks like we weigh right around the same amount.

Mark at NSDRC messaged me two videos - plugged it in and it works.

He says he's not sure what it is that caused my issue. I told him I honestly didn't plug it back in after re-installing the SIDE exit cover (maybe I should've) but he got it, plugged it in and it ran fine without issue.

His guess is that my pins inside the black plug weren't seated all the way, but in my video I even emphasized it as I had pushed them down even.

Then he installed a rear cover and it worked fine just the same.

He already packaged it up and mailed it with the rear cover on, but only after I asked him to send me the invoice for shipping and the rear cover plate so I'd say that's some good customer service I didn't expect.

Well, practicing on the course was fun especially since I'm able to blast through several difficult obstacles quickly

The trouble areas are when you need to turn quickly off into the next obstacle which I assume is done during comps so I did plenty of that too

I did take a nasty spill though and broke my front magnet mount

    20250208_165141.jpg

Not to mention losing two bolts on my wheels. I did find one so I'll just order a whole set from LGRP as backup

That's weird, glad you guys got it sorted and you're taken care of. I may end up putting the mofo setup I got on the way on my rig. I just don't think this mini komodo has the torque that I need. If I get in a bind on the course it's gonna be bad news. Gonna need something more reliable. I do also have a micro on the way as well as the v2 mini. I got options.

I placed my order for a new mount while waiting in line for In n Out

    Joey texted me

Man his customer service is ridiculously awesome; instead of a front and rear per my purchase, he's gonna swap one of the rears for another front

He packaged mine up and will ship tomorrow, so he's like "I'm going to toss in the mount with your order"

I'm starting to think the same thing. Lightened it up tonight, does much better, but still whines when up against a wall. I have the Injora Fat Viper and the Quicrun Mini24 on the way. If it doesn't fit, it'll go in the 1/24 UTB build.

Would I be crazy if...I decided to switch up the XL chassis to a 4WS setup?

There were a handful of people there today (a ton of them all asking about my rig lol) and one guy said there's one person that comes by now and then, and he won last weekend's comp with his 4WS rig.

I figure since there's an "unlimited" class, I could go ham and try to learn my way around that for my next build and swap my "Class II" setup to the standard length chassis.

Not crazy at all. You might as well since it's pretty much an unlimited class that they hold at your local shop

I've got a few motor options on the way as well. We'll see what claims the spot. The valkyrie I ordered from mofo specs out at around the same dimensions as the mini komodo so hoping that works out.
