Kenwood Excelon DNR-1007XR - the experiment

I love it. I am glad I made the spontaneous decision.

 

My truck is a 16' so I cant speak about the TSS functionality anyone else put it on a newer tacoma?

 

Here are the pictures that I forgot to add. I had them add a front camera when they installed the new radio.

 

I put it in an ‘18. I’d do it again if I had to! I love it.

 

Are any of you wheeling or driving washboard roads with this unit? Curious how it handles vibrations and shakes. Thank you

 

I have a cabin in the mountains that I have to drive over some rough roads to get to. Also, my job requires I drive some 4WD roads and paths. I’ve not had a single problem with it! I still love it and would install it again if I had to.

In addition to a fair amount of mild off-roading, I've driven mine over a few washboard type roads (at speed) without issue. The only time I have any vibrating (and it's only audible, nothing visual) is some mild clicking in the coldest of weather...think sub-zero days with the noise coming from the head-unit-bezzle area. It's short lived and goes away after the truck warms up a bit.

 

Thanks guys. Live in NW Montana and ANY gravel road (and most of our paved ones) are washboard and larger rocks.

Anyone installed this with the surround camera system (Multi Terrain Camera System)? Still works? The button to the left of the steering wheel still brings it up… or do you have to use that dedicated “Camera” button on the head unit? Some pics with the surround cameras enabled would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

 

OP here. This thread was originally in my 17. Have a 22 with the 360. Works flawlessly!

 

I forget exactly which buttons to hit to cycle cameras at a light, but it still work. I think you have to hit mode in while camera is up.

What about the 4Lo camera views… those stay intact as well?
