Man, so it seems that lower KV doesn't relate to torque but instead current draw and speed which allows say, the Mini to crawl really slow.

But the higher KV will actually provide you more torque, which is why I don't see the issues that you guys do with my Micro.

    Oh wow, another chassis?!

I read a lot of good things about that one. I'll be watching your next build!

Just ordered another set of LGRP Fifteen52 wheels, this time in a raw finish along with some extra bolts.

What's the KV on the micro? I have a v2 mini on the way which is 2500 KV and the valkyrie is 2550 KV

Edit: just looked it up. Micro is spec'd at 3450KV. I have one of those coming too

Yeah my Mini is the first version so only 2000KV.

With 2 Micro's on hand, I'm definitely going to use the second Micro versus the Mini.

There is also a point of diminishing returns with weight to power.
Reading around I see that most are in the 450-550 gram range fully loaded.
I'm gonna put that bitch on a diet, it's all in the brass wheels. If I go to aluminum I can get down to 478g. Prolly won't go that light, would like to be in the 500g range. Currently at 615.

I was right around 615 too I believe before I swapped back to the lighter brass knuckles and removed the diff skids. Thinking of shedding more weight as well. I could go to an injection molded super 8 rear axle and maybe lightweight wheel rings in the rear.

Aside from the printed bodies, how are you guys so heavy?

I don't have diff skids, so that's some weight not added. I do have metal axles front and rear, but did not apply any additional weight.

I do have brass weights in my wheels, not to mention a brass servo. The transmission is all metal as well as my stainless steel driveshafts.

    Jenny Craig would be proud.
Dropped 109g by just switching wheels and tires. These are 68mm. Total vehicle weight of 506g.
Did pretty good considering these are not as sticky as the other tires. Still managed a 52 degree slope.

Prolly gonna order some aluminum wheels, and use the existing brass inserts if needed.
The motor was definitely less burdened. I believe there has been some damage done to it at this point as it's simply just not the same as when new.
For today, I'll switch the sticky tires on to these wheels and see how they perform.

Yeah I'd just be curious to see what specific component(s) is adding more weight than usual.

    Geez that's a huge difference!

Was most of the weight in the wheels themselves? My wheels are light and it's only with the brass rings that they add any real weight.

Also, shame on you for not finishing up all those cinnamon rolls right away

This has been an educational morning.
Swapped over to the stamped steel white spokes. Kept the inner brass ring. Side note, it's 2mm wider than the aluminum ring and the wheel halves clamped down just fine.
Went from 72.6g per tire /wheel to 48g
went from 290g of rolling mass to 191.7g.
Total weight with body and 25g 3s battery is........521.9g :benchpress:
and it does better in every respect.

I was lifting a wheel on this before, due to the added torque of being over weight, the solution was to add more weight of course.
4 wheels stayed planted full climb. Tires exhibited better grip and less slip. I think it may go steeper before it rolls over instead of wheel spinning out first.
Side hill improved immensely. I was exceeding the grip in the tires.
This is the new look, less show and more go.

Motor seems much happier. I'll run it for a bit more.

I might build a mini indoor course using a door-turned-workbench once our house reno is done. Any tips/tricks welcome.

I did this out of boxes, sculpta-mold, hot glue and duct tape. Kind of modular, light weight. can be set up at any angle. Great for 1/32-1/24. I ran the 1/10 over it a few times and it didn't crush.

    Hard body 78.5g

I believe these are the biggest differences between us

Try a different set of wheels if you have them and see how it does. Those are heavier than mine were. Your body is almost double the weight of mine, it's just the cab and rollbar, how many layers of paint are on it?
My servo tips at 20g too.

Messing with the idea of rear facing motor with battery up front too in case I need a bigger motor

    Weight fully loaded without body.
Gonna see if I can get close to 400 before the body goes on
