I had forgotten the lore. Its a nice spot, and the hike down is worth it.
The first time I drove up the mountain road was in the middle of the night in one of the worst thunderstorms I'd ever driven in. It was intense.

It has been fun driving that road in the snow.

we are soooo dry here; it's going to be a hell of a fire season. :(

Barely two snow "storms" this year.

It was 60 here today; I am running trails I've never seen this time of year -- only in the satans butthole heat of the summer...it's nice, but it's not. :(

If anything, February is when it's muddy out with lots of snow chunks in the way; post holing to your hips...there's almost nothing out there.

    The dark is scary.

So is a light snowfall, an overcast afternoon, and a perfectly clear morning.

Am I a real BROverlander now?!

Any anti-theft tips? As I was installing my neighbor warned me his work van had been broken in to 3 times so be careful… I’ve never had any trouble with the gear I keep in the truck but feels like this could be gone in about 90 seconds with a set of bolt cutters.

I'd just pull it off until you need to use it.

That’s certainly the plan, but I’m lazy so it would be nice not to have to worry about it for a week or two at a time while it’s on.

It was pretty cheap so not a huge risk I suppose.

    Makes sense.

You could build a setup in your garage to easily and quickly lift it off though to add convenience?

Can't comment on the anti-theft part though.

That’s a good call! Especially if I could keep it up and out of the way.
