Installed my WO seat covers. FWIW, unbolting the front seats made the process a whole lot easier.

i have these LED switchback lights i bought a few years ago for my old car. i couldn't quite sell or let them go, so i decided to try and install them on my truck.

    conversion1_d4add61cf61d4f2f9c208adf621b5aa49226baf6.jpg

as you can see these bulbs are 1157 and in order for me to install these bulbs on the taco i would have to convert the stock 3157 socket to an 1157 socket. so thats exactly what i did. found some 1157 pigtail sockets at my local pepboys and spliced into the stock harness. i had already done the dtrl mod so i just had to figure out which wire went where. oddly enough i found the new socket pops into the stock housing pretty snug. i have to figure something out to make sure it doesn't come off when off roading though.

    conversion2_94b1569154f17f17d232940e09eb9d71ed228f9f.jpg

now you ask why i went through all this trouble? this is why:

    48 SMT LED switchbacks: $30
    LED FLASHER FIX: $15
    (2) 1157 Sockets: $9
to have 6000k white running lights and amber turn signal from just one bulb: PRICELESS!!!

here's a vid of them at work:

Let us know how the mpg works out if you dont mind. How hard on a scale 1-10 for an average guy was it to install?

I really like the black fuzzy dice install. Do you have any pics of the procedure you used for this mod ? Was it worth all the work ? Oh, how do you like the Redline hood struts ? I'd really like to know if that was worth the effort and expense. Thanks.

    George:
The hood struts are nice. Worked with another member yesterday and we installed them on both of our Tacoma's. Took about an hour for the install.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think they will be in the way when working on the engine compartment over the fender ? I think I asked B 4 - R U from Bowie ? I go to B'mo often. Bet you could slap those puppies in real quick with all your experience. Learn any tricks to speed up the procedure ?
