Need some help guys. Tonight I went to dinner and hit a snow burm that a plow truck had pushed to a pile. Came out from dinner. Truck would not go in gear (automatic), had to bypass by pulling the plastic tab up and unlocking the shifter by pushing down on the button. the lights on the shifter are not working, airbag light is on, on the dash, no turn signals, no drl lights, and reverse camera will not operate. Skid plate is fine no dents or anything there is a bit of snow now underneath. 4 wheel drive works fine, it will shift from 2 wheel to 4 wheel fine. Did I damage a sensor possibly hitting that snow to hard?

Check the IG1 and IG1 No2 fuses, I bet one of them is blown.

That was exactly it, a dang little fuse. I thought It was a front bumper sensor.

    DMm93 thank you very much.

I’m curious, what would cause the fuse to overload/blow? Nice call BTW.

Hard to say, there is alot of stuff fed by those fuses but a failing A/C compressor clutch or a short in the reverse light circuit are 2 common ones to blow the IG1 fuse. If it blows again we will have to investigate.

It's still popping the fuse. Drove it yesterday and it blew once, have driven this a.m. and has popped 2 more times? Could there be water some where that's melting from when I hit the snow burm?

It's still popping fuses, did it once yesterday and twice today? Could there be water in a sensor somewhere from the snow melting?

Need to figure out what's turned on when it blows.

Does it only blow with the A/C on?

Does it blow when you put it in reverse?

So that suggests the short is in the reverse circuit, I'd start with a visual inspection of the wiring at the rear of the truck by the bumper, hitch, and going up to the rear lights for frayed wires or any places it could be rubbing on metal.

Wasnt there a TSB for the reverse causing a fuse to pop? I recall it being the harness union.

Huh, cant find it, but this is easily the next step, disconnecting the harnesses and checking for moisture.

Ok so now more problems have arised. Started up my truck to go to work where all my tools are at turned off the traction control ( snow is finally starting to melt in spots) and now check engine light has come on and traction control light is stuck on, on the dash. I want to bang my head against a wall.

I'm not finding anything in TSBs about that.

need to see what the codes are but Trac Off will nearly always accompany a check engine light on Toyota.

The blown fuse could have caused that code to set as it poweres the range switch.
