gotta be careful how doctor words the paper work. wife just had the 10yr preventive colonoscmy and he asked if she had any symtoms or issues. well doc worded paper work as doing it for symtoms of blood. insurance wont pay crap cause it wasnt worded as preventive.

Good Morning. Have a great day. Hung out with my grandson last night to watch the game. Enjoyed watching him more than watching the game. Stay Well…Stay Safe

Good morning. Had to run over to my mother’s house this morning. I received a call from the medical alert company that they received a signal that she needed help. Get over there and she’s eating breakfast without a care. Accidentally pushed the button and because she doesn’t have her hearing aids in couldn’t hear me calling on the phone.

Mikala wants me to get some gadget that has gps sos feature she sees it on these hiking videos on YouTube. I mentioned wanting to hike down into linville gorge to get to the river it’s another gold medal within a few hours ride. But it’s in pretty deep hole to me that means not everybody and their brother is going to go through the trouble. Her first thought is what if you break something or you need to take someone with you. So I guess I’m going to have to learn a new gadget.

Good morning. Cold. But above zero finally. 3 above. Teens below tonight and I'm not ready for that nonsense.

I've used Garmin In Reach since they came out and then the In Reach mini. When that died last year went with Zoleo. Last year is also the first year I didn't rent a sat phone to the tune of $400 a month I trust the Zoleo that much.

I've been down Linville Gorge when I lived in Asheville. Even sat devices can have issues getting a signal in places like that.

If you are looking for strictly an emergency device and not 2 way communications then a PLB, personal locator beacon, is the way to go. They work when other devices don't but don't give SAR teams much info. Just tells them to send the A team and do it now.

I went last Monday in regard to our taxes. Last year we got a little over $300. I had an old account I closed in 2024 so I thought we might pay. Turns out we owe Uncle Sam $637. I had the tax woman take it out electronically. Today I called her to see why it hadn't been taken out after one week, this being the first time we have owed since my wife and I have been married. She told me that they won't take it out until April 15th, even though they have had my information since February 3rd. Not that I like to pay, but talk about inefficiency. I learned years ago in my finance classes that a company collects money owed as soon as possible and pays money due as late as possible.
