Okay, looking at doing the FST Performance fuel filter install. I've been trying to piece together all the builds of various individuals. Check out my list, am I on the right track? And what am I missing regarding adapters?

Don't forget to get really good metal to weld to the frame and make a skid plate

 

What model/make rims are you running? I’m looking for something similar in bronze for my GX.

 

Got around to installing the FJ TRD intake tube and corresponding MAF. Long fuel trim is bouncing around from 11-30 so my suspicion is vacuum leak. I Popped a CEL with a P0101 code (MAF Out of range). I'm assuming I'm going to need further tuning to fully take advantage of it, but is it pretty much the norm to get a P0101 with the new MAF until properly tuned?

 

That housing has a larger diameter MAF housing than the one designed for the 2G Tacoma. Will require MAF scaling.

 

@JustDSM thanks. sounds like it's time for me to pull the ecu again for your services . I still have some fuel & exhaust mods to accomplish. Does it make any difference whether I finally convert to an OTT tune now or after the other mods?

 

That scaling needs to be done through our custom calibration service. You can get the truck tuned now, and we can update the calibration (if necessary) depending on these other mods. Please send us an email to info@overlandtailor.com, and John will assist you in getting your DIY kit.

 

Until you tune it you should swap 2nd Tacoma intake tube and stock MAF. I was one of the first with the FJ but had swapped back to to the Tacoma intake. At the time it wasn’t running right but unless your maxing out the MAF it’s not going to give you much if any gains.

Sadly nothing really positive. Still waiting. Not sure what caused the delay, but my order didn't finally get put through until right before the New Years holiday Jan 29, 2025 – Wed, Feb 12, 2025. So hopefully by the 13th I get tracking. I've been in contact with the US distributor, so I'm confident it's on the way, just really frustrated, that I was told this would take 10 business days...

Side note, a benefit of going with the VT S/C'er might be how it fits in the engine bay. With the Magnuson the intake “may” have interfered with my new coilovers hoop.

 

Hey all, does anyone know of a place in the Denver metro that will do the 100k mile service and change the spark plugs? I'm right at the mile mark now and this is beyond my free time and skill level.

I had an inkling that getting product(s) out of China might be a small struggle right now.

Also, it's not unusual for them to have taken a multi-week break for Lunar New Year celebrations which could have added to the leadtime.
