BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Was it already tinted or did you ask them to do it?

It came tinted, but if it didn't I'd have them tinted, it is hot 13 months a year here and I cannot stand it getting so hot and the sun hitting me through clear windows.
Did you have a horrible experience with tinted windows?

I am 56, disabled, in chronic pain from a bad C-spine injury, chronic migraine headaches, and I am married, so it does not worry me how something looks anymore and I am not trying to impress anyone, if something is useful for my wife and I that is all that matters.

I added all weather floor mats, neoprene seat covers, and a soft roll-up tonneau cover for the bed, all from Rough County and I am pleased.

I may want a hard roll-up cover but wanted to try the soft first, if I love it I'll upgrade down the road.

    Thank you for the replies.

Congrats. My SR5 came with tow package as well. I got a hitch pin with mine as well. Did you ? Assuming it's the same hitch in the SR, the pin is longer than a standard. Just a heads up on that. I just got a spare from toyota that cost @$12. It's a hard to find size.

I have not checked it out yet, everything is in the truck. I'll check it out well before I need it though to make sure everything is ready to go.

This is so simple. Here I was looking for all sorts of more complex things. What keeps the frame from sliding inward? I am trying to devise an adhoc system to do some winter camping, but don't want to get one of those ghetto looking "tent" things from Softopper to wrap the back end.

so I have them resting against my bed stiffeners however, I could’ve made it so they rested against the tailgate latches. Or if I used a smaller gauge of pipe, it could’ve been something that fed through the tailgate latches. Not pictured is the Noseeum net I put on before I drape the tarp.

after reading some not very impressive reviews about the topper tent and the other option sold by soft topper, I went to the hardware store to see what I could make and personally this solves all the issues I was hearing from those two aforementioned products. Once you get it all set up, you really only need a couple of bungee cords. I was camping in windier conditions than I thought and there wasn’t a lot of noise coming from the tarp.

plus the whole set up cost about $40. The most expensive part was the damn PVC Tri-elbow joints.

I am thinnking of an in-bed tent. But now wonder if my tonneau cover will interfere when rolled up.

which in bed tent are you looking at? Or do you mean literally putting a 1 or two man tent in your bed lol?

im pretty sure those purpose built truck bed tents drape in between the cab and the bed so a roll up tonneau probably won’t affect the tent that much.

Something along these lines: Amazon.com : truck bed tents

I read somewhere that the soft roll-up covers are good with some of these tents because they are so small when rolled up.

If you have the 6' bed with something like a Softopper, that will fit one oversized human or two average sized human. I can fit in the truck bed at an angle with the tailgate closed. If I was shorter, two people can fit parallel to the bed with a plywood base or one of those truck bed specific air mattresses.

I think the cheapest, best comfort but most ghetto system would be to get a fully foam rubber queen mattress and carve out the wheel well divots from the side of the mattress and just drop that in.

Its a little "shaggin wagon" which is kind of hard to explain if pulled over by police.

It's not the most ideal, but I can decamp in about 2 minutes and be in the road.
