I’m considering an Ott. Once it’s programmed, is it a forever deal ? Or is it possible loose it ?

 

I'm assuming you mean a tune by Overland Taylor Tuning?

One a tune is flashed/programmed to the ECM it's permanent unless the ECM is replaced or the ECM is reflashed/reprogrammed with the stock tune or a different tune by say a dealer in the event of a TSB/recall that has an accompanying programming update or another tuner/tune device.

 

So how long does the Overland Taylor Tuning procedure take ? 1/2 hr, 2 hrs

 

4-6 minutes.

 

Depends on what we’re tuning. It can range from a few min to load a file, to several hours depending on the build and ECU we’re working with.

Typical naturally aspirated trucks with typical bolt ons using our base files only take a few min to actually write the file. Your retailer will generally be able to assess your build config. and driving needs/habits and get you set on the first attempt. But if adjustments are needed after a test drive, those can be made.

Typically, the real long appointments are reserved for the heavily modified supercharger configurations.
