Come up north to Terrebonne and check out Smith Rock! $5 for a day pass (or $30 for a year pass to all state parks). Incredible hiking and a variety of trails for all skill levels/families/pets.

Have to say I do like the Redmond Terrebone area, I’m in Eagle Crest now and love being able to go hiking or mountain biking up on Cline Butte straight from the house, literally walk across the golf course and I’m on single track right away, pretty awesome!

Makes up for living in vacation village!!

EC is like our own little Sunriver up here in the north. I too enjoy our proximity to stuff like Lake Billy, Skull Hollow/Smith Rock, and even the grasslands between Sisters and RDM.

I've found some really cool dispersed spots and fun off-roady trails all around this area.

I moved out this way from Eugene back in 2021. Was coming out here so much already, decided to make it my jumpoff point

Thanks, I can get out on my bike without freezing now :)

I’d probably save them for next season.

In all honesty I’ve found my Cooper AT3’s are all I need. Even with last year when I experienced my first ice storm and there was ice everywhere, could drive around in just 2wd with no issues. I do have 250lb of sand over the rear wheels though to help though.

Yeah im just going to save em…
My duratracs are great in deep snow but don’t have enough siping for this type of ice. I’ve got a shell and a bunch of gear in the rear but still fish-tailing around these roundabouts.

So glad it is warming up!
Looking forward to finally getting up into the mountains

I understand that if you signal left until you’re ready to signal right it helps this problem :hattip:

Random request… does anyone frequent Eugene and would be able to pick up a very small 12.5” bike?

Thanks, sure does suck…moved here for the job and only got to work there for 1 month.
It was as an Archaeologist at the Bureau of Reclamation. Was doing the cultural resource compliance (NHPA and NEPA) for their dam and canal projects.
We (now they, unfortunately) manage most of the resevoirs in the area, Prinevillr, Wickiup, Henry Hagg, Haystack…to name a few.
I had a break in service of over 30 days so I had to do a year probationary period. DOGE axed most probationary employees last week.

As for recourse, I filed an appeal since my last performance review was “outstanding” but who knows if that will change anything.

Since I’ve got “time off” I’m going on a road trip. Open to suggestions!

Your call, but the weather can still be dicey this time of year in Oregon. We like to take off in May. Just keep an eye on the weather. If you want to circle the whole state this time of year, you could still run into some stuff.
