Hey all, GF has a 3rd gen tacoma trying to convince her to get the evo’s. Does anyone know if Morimoto is planning to make the evo for 2019 F150? i’m dying to get them.

Most popular models, 18-20 F150 included, will get an Evo version. I can’t say timeline yet, but it is in development. It’s early in 2025 still, but I know what’s on our budget for the year too. So… stay tuned to our (Morimoto) social!

For what it’s worth, the 18-20 F-150 was the first of the popular stacked-projector housings we released about ~6? years ago. The 17-19 Super Duty was the first we added the Chiron-style welcome sequence to.

Absolutely true. The start up sequence (and everything that entails, high beam, low beam, whatever) will happen when the DRL or parking light is turned on, not when the truck is started.

And perhaps someone could do me a favor? I am wondering if these require the DRL signal from the truck at all? Do they do everything they need to without that signal present in anyway? Seems like they don't need it since they seem to be switching to dim mode from the parking signal, and the fuse tap to drive the DRL. Can someone verify this? @TRSAndrew @Mshort03 maybe?

No they don’t need the DRL input from the truck because of the fuse tap—you’re right!

Purchased and installed Morimoto harness solution from @Puppypunter
(Thank-you for quick communication with me during install and trouble shooting my lapse in judgement about DRLs not switching on with handbrake engaged)

Stalk functions completely as OEM now and functions alongside meso switchback mirror turn signals

    Off - off
    DRL - DRL only
    Parking lights - Normal
Start up sequence - Starts with truck on if stalk is left in on position / engages when put to any on mode after being set to off on stalk
    heating (unable to test)

Anyone who has these want to do me a favor? @inkedtater @Mshort03 maybe? There is a "DRL harness" included with these. This:

Can someone tell me the lengths on it, and how it is laid out? Is it a Y (left) or a V (right)? It doesn't have to be super exact, just give or take an inch.

Henlo frens. These are finally on. Everything about the Evo's is top notch. Much better build quality, fitment and output then the Gen2's. Even the bumper fits better because the headlights fit properly. My only gripe with the install is that the wiring harnesses were labeled wrong in the instructions. The DRL vs non-drl harnesses were mismarked and it made for a very confusing first 10 minutes. All functions work perfectly though with this being an OR. Super happy with this upgrade.

Sorry to hear of the difficulty! I can get this updated if needed. Can you point out exactly where the wrong labels are?

Yup those are the instructions I used, but the included Morimoto Full Halogen and Halogen with LED DRL harnesses in step 27 were swapped in the photos.

Beyond that, the instructions were perfect until I got to step 30. As with the gen2's, I did not need to tap into the fuse box to retain any functions or the DRL. Not sure if the fuse box tap is only necessary if it was a factory non-LED DRL truck, but my Off-Road had those connections already in place.

How did the PPF install go with them being so curvy? My Gen2's need to be re-polished about every 2 months now, and it's killing me.

That's why I got mine swapped out. Well my clear was also flaking off but... the gen2 lenses are junk. If yours are looking rough like mine were maybe see if they will warranty them out as well. That's why I got mine replaced.

I can do most things on a car, but wrapping is not a skill I can figure out. I dropped them off at a local detail shop that does PPF and picked them up a few days later. They came out perfect with almost completely edge to edge protection.

I'll check into that. I didn't figure that would be covered under warranty. Just disappointing to get such a short life from them at that price point.

A local friend picked up the new Evos and they look great. I prefer the DRL from the Gen2's, but clear lenses make a big difference.

Johnny, I can look into this tonight if nobody has gotten back to you yet. I believe the harness was included, but will have to look at it to see how its wired.

Awesome. Just a rough length would help.
