    Morning PA :pccoffee:

Power has blipped 4 times since 9:30pm last night, heck it did just about 15 minutes ago. I think the 9:30 was the original issue as it blinked twice and the power has been "surging" slightly since. Apparently they're on RT16 (my road) working on it. I'm not gonna complain too much, those lineman work hard enough. I'm scared to throw a load of laundry in; the electronics freak out if the power goes out in the middle of it

The guy on channel 11 says my neck of the woods is only going to get a dusting, while your area may get at least a few inches. This is a southern storm. I still have over 2 bags of ice melt left, so I am prepared for the rest of the winter. The temps are another thing: not overly cold but not even average. I feel it every morning when i walk the dog. Next week is supposed to be frigid again. By the way, the grandson is doing a tour of the local Vo-Tech today. he's going to see if he can get into the HVAC-R program.

Good for him. Can't go wrong with a trade especially that trade. He won't have any issues finding a job. NOAA says less than 1 inch today , 1/2 tonight, then a little more.... probably enough that I have to shovel..

They're calling for a dusting here during the day and 1-3" during the night. Then another dusting Wed into the night. Better than ice...

I've gone through 3 bags of ice melter so far this season. Don't want the other people in the house slipping if for some reason they need to go out. That and any Amazon/FedEx/UPS deliveries. Gotta keep that clear for them!

    Well said.

Quite a few years ago when Taylor Swift was just starting to get airplay and before she was such a huge star I was working night shift and there was an overnight syndicated DJ I used to listen to at work. He relayed a story about her when she had just started touring. One of her shows must have wrapped up and she and her band were in the tour bus heading to the next destination and they decided to stop somewhere for something to eat at some small, middle of nowhere diner, in the early morning hours. A young waitress recognized her and commented how badly she'd wanted to be at the show they'd just finished but money was tight and she had to work. Taylor then sent a guitar tech out to the bus to bring back a few guitars and the band proceeded to play a few songs for the diner staff and few patrons present. That story impressed me as I really thought that spoke to how she likely was as a person and an artist.

I've continued to follow her and the stories of some of her generosity and kindness are impressive. Here in the York area there is a young lady who started an ice cream business named Ripleigh's Creamery. Ripleigh is apparently a Swiftie and named several flavors for Taylor Swift song titles. When Ripleigh opened a new storefront Taylor Swift sent flowers to her grand opening.

People can say what they want but we all know actions speak louder than words. I for one am impressed by her actions.

Good morning all. Had to jump start my other half's daughter yesterday which reminded me it's probably a good time to recharge my jump pack. Friendly reminder for the rest of us. :pccoffee:

I have gone through 2-3 bags too, I over apply because I don't want to see anybody slip, especially with my mother being here now. She goes out at least once a week and it's a walk to the detached garage. The grandson and wife take the walk everyday to school and work and so does the dog. :D Actually, I carry the little thing so she doesn't get it in her paws, even though I get the stuff that is safe for dogs. Then the delivery guys come at least once a week. Hey, I'm retired and have been buying almost everything online for about 8 or 9 years now.

I like to pretend that I'm Taylor's biggest fan, she was Woman of the Year last year. I do like that Taylor Swift is good influence for girls and young women. Although she might be the world's biggest star she does present the image of normalcy and what's normal for young women. Everyone especially young people need to see that baseline of tradition, not that everyone needs to subscribe to that image IOW, she's not singing about shaking her ass when that's what the majority of popular young women artists often sing about.

I typically just follow along and read the post here. But I feel compelled to comment on MidnightRebel07 recent message. I agree completely with his Taylor Swift comments. She seems to be a total role model for young people and older people as well. If I knew how to “like” his post I would have done that instead.

At the bottom of every post in the lower right corner you can see the word 'like", click on it. It's really that simple.

My eldest daughter (who will be 35 this year) enlightens me about a world that does not recognize certain aspects of folks in the limelight.

People are quick to judge and then post those judgy thoughts/comments.

Yeah, it's advisable to ignore those type of comments but it doesn't change the fact people still think/act that way.

:pccoffee:  PA peeps/wannabes/football --- errr, fans? I vote for lowering the volume a bit, no need to attract the po-po...

I got about 80% of the ice off the driveway yesterday. There is one spot that doesn't get much sun and that was still cemented to the surface. The slopes are clear though, and the parking area, so we should be okay. Until tomorrow anyway when the next mess arrives! :annoyed:

Or it could just be that people are tired of distractions that take away from the actual game. Sorry, that's not a derogatory comment about her, despite the swift replies saying so.
