Helldivers 2

I'm betting that will depend on community achievements. Possibly after the DSS is built or and used a couple times, or something like that. It's not just going to be a regular update/patch thing. It'll be something that fits in the "lore" they have for the game.

 

I only play on PS5 don't like cross play with PC personally.

I've only been able to play against them a few times. Definitely a different kind of fight with the blend of horde tactics and getting shot at! I enjoy them infinitely more in this game than I did in the original Helldivers game.

 

i have been enjoying the new update tbh. it brought me back to the game so its not as boring now! been playing with a few friends and recently the gf got the game as well so i also play it with her.

speed leveled me from 9-22 in a single night lol

 

I'm having fun playing against them, I think Arrowhead did a nice job with it.

Arc Blitzer and Arc armor combo is fun....new vehicle is kinda cool as well.

 

I haven't been able to play for a week.

Tomorrow will by the first day I get to. Just looking at the stats, the one weapon I was excited for (a beefed up sickle) now looks like garbage. I was expecting better damage as it got hotter to be a sliding scale based on the description. Not specific points in heat that made it get a bump. 25% heat is too much of a delay to get a perk out of it when the base stats are the same as the regular sickle. It's too much of a situational thing, and there is zero benefit to it unless you are actively taking damage.

Not only that, but the damage you take is stupidly high for the minimal gains unless you take a specific set of armor to offset it. The only thing that makes the laser weapons viable, especially with low damage and low armor pen, is that you can have bursts of damage output offset by rest periods to combat ammo shortage issues. This new gun fails at that, because it shortens the damage bursts by adding in "hurts the operator" damage and now introduces a med kit shortage issue if you want to use the added damage or be able to fire at more than a couple of enemies.

This is poorly thought out design. Before the nerf the new sickle at least got something in exchange for the lost damage burst duration in the form of utility against more enemy types. Now that utility is locked behind sacrificing health. Combine that with comments I'm seeing online about the OG sickle getting it's heatsink capacity reduced so it runs out of steam quicker, and it's pretty obvious the new idiots "balancing" stuff since the change of leadership really want to make this game into a struggle for ammo simulator.

I'm not down for that. I'm already ditching console for PC after the last year of nonsense from Sony, but this trend and the lack of cross progression may just have me leaving helldivers altogether.

 

I think it's best to take breaks from it and honestly not take it seriously..I have the most fun with my buddies when we are goofing off and getting the objective done.
