nah i had a tire gate. it replaced my tailgate fully it was really neat! buuut with having my rtt and the tire on the back i noticed it started tweaking my bed so i sold it off to @Adventure4x4 then he sold it later on lol.

Yeah i had a cheap one like that and hated it too. Used one and then vowed id never get another rack. Eventually stumbled on this one and it is sooooolid. Love it. Only thing i dont love is actually carrying it out of the garage.
Totally get that. Thats why i got rid of a RTTs in some aspect. Got tired of the ladder being in the way for access to stuff.

    Yeah they do. Crazy pricing.
    Wife still misses it.

yuup i hate loading my bike on it... the klx300r is better since its lighter but its still a pain and i watch it wiggle and wobble all the time... the worst part is it loooves to get the tires stuck in the drop down holes and then its a fight to get it off the rack!! i think maybe one day ill grab another nicer one for if i ever do a trip by my self but here soon we should be adding another dual sport to the stable so they will either go in the bed or the trailer so no real use for one atm. plus having a full size truck now and a almost 7ft bed i can fit two bikes in it easily lol.

honestly! have you seen the prices they have on them now? the gen 2 gate last i saw it was close to the cost of a full plate bumper and swingout!

haha it was a great tire gate tbh! i used it for a year or so then sold it to adam he used it for awhile and now its somewhere haha

too bad you didn't have a bumper you could just slap a hinge on and make your own gate.

While the Ironman bumper is nice...I wouldn't trust it to hold a tire when wheeling. I just need to set aside a week and make my own.

    So. Many. Stickers.
I mean if it uses the factory mounting points which there's like 14 of, then it's definitely strong.

Mounting points, yes. Where the hinge would be located is rather flimsy...especially with the way I treat the truck. I would have to reinforce both bumper ends to support the weight and abuse and by the time I did all that, I would just make a whole new bumper.

Finally got my snowblower rebuilt and running, which means we'll probably be on the lower end of predicted snowfall
