    Well said...

I quit here many years ago because my boss mans dad wouldn't give me a raise. 2 months later he called me and offered me more money, I said no.

About 2 weeks later I went on break (was working 2nd shift and hated it) at the place I was working and called him, ask if the offer still stood. He said yes. I said I'll see you day after tomorrow.

I walked back inside, grabbed my toolbox and walked out. Never said a word.

Supervisor called me the next day, blah blah. I said nope. That company got bought out a few years later and then was closed.

Haha, well.. I'm considering telling them Monday or Tuesday. I had considered a "sorry for your loss" cake :anonymous: but I probably shouldn't do that

I don't know your employer, but I'd tell them whatever day gives two weeks notice. But I'd be prepared to escorted out of the building right after you give your notice.

I've worked for employers that wouldn't accept a notice and would just send you packing right then, and I've given as much as 3 months notice and they were glad to have it.

at my first fire department job when I gave my notice I had three letters one was effective immediately. One was two weeks and one was staying on as a reserve firefighter. He only accepted two weeks.

I was in the volunteer F.D. for 12 + years. Was thinking about getting out, I ask the chief how would I go about it. I wasn't doing it then, just thinking about it. A friend who worked there in the day time told me that evening the chief had the secretary (my friends aunt) type me up a letter that afternoon. I said alrighty then.

I went the next day and signed it

Whenever you post pictures like this, I see the carpet and think, there’s no way he’s doing this in his living room.

Originally I had intended to give 6 months notice -- then 3...

An accelerating culture shift reduced that to 2 weeks. :bikewhoops:

They didn't ask about an exit interview and neither did I.

...after all they were already the smartest people in the room...

    LOL YOU ARE CORRECT.
It’s not in the living room.
It’s downstairs in an old bedroom.
    This “hobby room” is mine
Carol has a “Wrapping Room” across the hall. Her room was redone and could be made into a bedroom again in a hour. This one is still original to the house and is full of dust, splash spots, hunting equipment, lure paint booth. It’s a dungeon and not on the list of tour rooms. I needed a place to play in the winter….

We went a couple places after a funeral Saturday and one place was the Boot Barn. I looked at work boots there and about passed out. Almost $300 for not so good ones. I need to get some new inserts for my Red Wings.

The Thorogoods are around $300. But the thing I like is that I can send them back and get brand new inner and outer soles put on for $150.

A short video of the exit conversation would be great. I would love to see the expression on his face.
