is there an adjustment for clutch pedal travel on the hydraulic system in a 2008 2.7 liter 5 speed truck? when i first bought the truck used, the pedal seemed to release very high, but now very low, and pedal often times does not come all the way up when driving.

    Not for the travel.
Only adjustments are for height and free play.

Have you tried bleeding it? How's the fluid level?

There's a leak somewhere, probably the master cylinder. It can drip down the inside of the firewall by the carpet or they can fail internally and not build pressure.

The only way for the slave cylinder to fail is to leak externally. If it's dry, it's not the problem

Less likely but still possible would be a problem with the clutch unit itself. Like the pressure plate fingers are weak and not pushing the release bearing back when you let go of the pedal.

A good way to tell if you have a hydraulic problem or a clutch problem is to watch the throw of the slave cylinder while a helper pushes the clutch pedal. If the slave cylinder pushrod is moving out a normal distance then you don't have a hydraulic issue. If the distance is not very far then look at the master cylinder..

You really shouldn't be messing with the pushrod at the pedal to bandaid a bigger issue
