Yes, Bob Serva former President at Dan Wesson. For the money on the Freedom series firearm you can’t beat the quality fit and finish and accuracy.

I hit the lottery on the first offering. I opted for a service grade as well. What I got was an Ithaca frame with all new small parts, a contract replacement slide and a new IMI barrel. The original gun had been sent to the Fleet in August of 1944 and must have been stored in an armory somewhere before finally being sent to Crane at some time. While the gun isn't a really cool warhorse, it is virtually as new. The frame and mainspring housing have no dings and with all the new parts, it is a pristine version of an as issued 1911A1. I was just ecstatic with what I received from CMP. Others may have preferred their mixmaster to have all original parts, but I am really happy with mine. It was like an armorer at Crane wanted to build a really nice 1911 and put all the best parts together to do so.

I was also very happy with my CMP 1911

I am pretty sure i selected Rack grade in round 2. Mine is an Ithaca frame and Colt slide with confirmed European Theater service...likely Battle of the Bulge but unable to fully confirm further due to service records being lost

it's in phenomenal condition considering the life it has had

A little of this and a little of that.
I picked up my CMP M1911A1 yesterday. Serial number is from 1944, it’s a Remington-Rand frame with an Ithaca slide. I grew up in upstate New York and both Ithaca and Remington gun companies mean a lot to me. Very happy with the gun, the hard plastic case it came with, and the maintenance manual from 1964.
