So when we were training, we went out every 2 hours and said quick pee repeatedly and rewarded after. So now if we want Mal to pee we say quick pee and she abliges. So if after the evening play time we see she hasn't gone we say it on our way in and poof she does it.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
We do something similar with "potty." My wife started with it at the door before she would let Tessa out. We've been doing a "potty treat" when she comes in since day one.

This is one of the best things about rewarding for “go pee”. On road trips, you can stop and go fairly quickly if needed. No waiting around for the right place :)

Yep! I actually have a bad dog allergy; but I'm less allergic to the bichons.

Yep - they have "hair", rather than "fur". I was allergic to cats and dogs growing up but no reaction to our bichon!

I wonder how popular a taco-bichon combination is, LOL?

Here is my contribution - Snowy:

They seem to produce less dander than the fur-type dogs, but for me, I am still allergic to them.

We have HEPA filters in every room, and they (we have 2) aren't allowed in our bedroom at all. We vacuum the house 2,3, sometimes 4 times per week.

I have to change my clothes after holding them, or even after laying on the couch that they are allowed on, before i sleep. if the dogs have been laying on a couch lap blanket , i cannot use that blanket or i will feel it.

The dog dander gives me asthma. Anyone who has like a lab, or a golden, even a doodle, i can only be inside their house for like 20 minutes max. even if they vacuumed, i need to pretty much stay outside.

When my sister inlaw had a bulldog, even a lick from them on my knee, I would welt up in hives from their saliva. One of my bichons licks my hands and shaved head and i dont welt up at all.

Which Is how we got our first bichon.

I'm so glad you can tolerate bichons, because I could not imagine having to live without them LOL

Growing up I always wanted a dog I could pay catch with, trail run, duck hunting, etc. - but bichons make awesome companions and make up for not doing the other stuff.

Chief made it 11 years and 7 months without needing to be neutered…unfortunately during a routine exam it was found that one of his testicles were large and firm so the vet recommended neutering him and sending it out for study. Poor guy has the cone of shame for the next 14 days. Got a bonus nail trim and skin tag removed while they were at it.

Unfortunately Chief didn’t make it today. I woke up to hearing him fall, rushed to the emergency clinic to find out his stomach had flipped. Not sure how it happened he seemed happy to get home. All symptoms were kind of what they said to expect with coming off of the meds. Miss my best buddy so much already. Give your pooches lots of hugs.
