    :hattip:Good morning

Thunderstorms, lightning and torrential rains throughout the night. I did not sleep well. Off to work, back to the grind in a few.

Enjoy your day and stay safe out there.

Good morning. A light rain here and the temps will drop throughout the day, back to winter like.

Looks like my Tacoma is going to be rebuilt for the second time. Once this fiasco is sorted out, I’m replacing it with a new Tacoma or 4-Runner.

Dammit Bill, it sucks that you’re having to deal with this fiasco with getting your truck fixed. All the best to you as you deal with the repairs.

The new 4th Gen Tacoma is nice but I have been looking at the new 2025 4Runners and they are really nice, well except for the price.

The 4-Runner is a slippery slope of upgrades. For what it is, the SR5 is pretty reasonable. $But then… TRD Off Road… cool! $$ TRD Off Road Premium… even cooler! $$$! And then… You are talking Land Cruiser money… $$$$!

My local weather guy is saying 4.5”, I beg to differ.

Good morning everybody, have a great Thursday!

I feel your pain Scott, the storms cranked up here about 0400 this morning. High winds, thunder and lightning woke us up before the weather alerts started. It carried on until about 0530. I just did an initial walk around any didn’t see any damage.

    Good morning :pccoffee:

-9.8° right now hoping it doesn't get into teens below but honestly doesn't much matter, it is cold.

Remember Rocky and Bullwinkle and Frostbite Falls? It is named after International Falls, or just the Falls by locals. Friend sent me this text an hour ago

    upload_2025-2-13_7-46-8.png

As he said I am in the tropics compared to him.

I was number 2 on the list at the Toyota dealer for the new Land Cruiser 250 when they first came out. Then last fall when shipping came close started to get cold feet so went to the dealer to test drive a T4R Pro. I wasn't impressed compared to the Taco and he had to almost twist my arm but got me to drive a Lexus GX460. Which is a Prado Land Cruiser 150 to the rest of the world. 4 years old with 40K on it and got it for half the price of new, it now sits in my driveway. The last of the V8's. No regrets full time 4 wheel drive, KDSS, Crawl and Multi Terrain Select, leather, heated seats, blah blah, etc.

In 4-5 years should be at around 100k and 10 years old so will look at either replacing things like water side on the engine and suspension. Or start looking at lightly used LX700h or GX550.

I can't see myself paying twice what I paid for my first stick house for a new vehicle. But I can't ever see myself going backwards now. Hopefully the Lexus rigs will continue to escape the Taco and T4Runner "Toyota Tax" on used ones. But the word seems to have been getting out on them. Come to think about it maybe I should delete this...

Breaking news, both weather reports were incorrect, both local weather station and Ice Station Zebra. Backup weather station Bean Boots reporting 7. 25 “IMG_1027.jpg

I believe I will go ahead and pick up a mini 2 while I’m between trips for a bit while Mikala’s healing up. I was thinking this morning about two trips ago. I returned to a regular spot there were a good many fishermen already there. So i go back to the top of the hill pull up troutrouts pick out a spot down river. Drive about 3 or 4 miles down a forest service road park when my adult inner voice says far enough. Then I hiked in another mile and a half or so on leaves on a steep slope wearing felts. Sorta like walking on ice my only concern is hope I don’t fall and break my rod:D and on the way out I see a bear. Not as big a deal as out west and I was back in the 4Runner then but I didn’t see another soul this entire time. I’m thinking I need one for future trips and then I think a little bit and wonder why my dumb ass doesn’t already have one. IMG_3565.png IMG_3553.jpg IMG_3558.jpg
The camera doesn’t show how steep it is but that’s the trail not a lot of traffic on that one. And it’s one of those magical places where you’re not answering phone calls and text messages.
