16" wheels rubbing on caliper!?

    So i went to buy a new set of wheels and the guy told me i had to buy 17s because the caliper will rub if i buy ANY set of 16" wheels.......?
    I told him hes full if it and i bought my 16s anyways and they are just fine.

    Has anyone heard of anything like that before?

    My 15" rims don't rub..

    thats only for 05+ tacomas on certain 16's
    The 04 and prior have no problem with 16's or 15's

    LS1-T56 swap, Z06 ported heads, cam, Titanium valves, Kevlar clutch. Now building a forged stroker (383) and all the ponies! Old setup was rod-knockin on heaven's door...
    You can run 15's with no problem, maybe even 14's

    thats what i figured. I told him a bunch of you guys on Tacomaworld are running 16's. Sooooo idk what hes smoke but he better share. lol

    You're half right. No problem with 16" wheels, but many 15" wheels won't clear the brake calipers.
    No.....some 15's......no 14's.
    **EDIT** Sorry Speed Freak, I just looked at your specifications and for a 5 lug, 14" wheels may be a possibillity, but not for a 6 lug.

    4 wheels parts had a 20% off some procomp series 8069 wheels that i had to jump on.... the deal was coming to a end. soo i ended up buying it from him. But he wasnt the only guy at 4WP who said that tacos where having problems with 16's. But when i test fitted my wheels, i called 4WP and i told them that they fit like a charm.
