Ha. Funny. Thought about it. Went matte black. I bet that gloss titanium would look incredible though. Have you seen any trucks our color running those?

I would not say it's terribly noisy at highway speeds. I do have some wind front the bars but it's not really a huge issue. There's another configuration for the bars perpendicular to what's shown and you can also get the topper without bars. As far as the canvas flapping around goes, I've gone up to 75 and not had it move around. But it is also cold in Colorado and the canvas is stiff and new so we will see when the temperatures warm up and the canvas gets a little more broken in. There are aluminum inserts in each of the roll up doors that help control movement and provide some rigidity.

Yes, you could still use the stock tie downs in the bed rails. There are four plates that come down from the wild top that tie into the bed rail system. I personally don't care for the stock cleats so I installed d-rings with slotted channel nuts at three positions in each of the bed rails, I had to coordinate placement while installing the wild top.

As I stated earlier the wild top is still new so I am still getting used to it and learning the pros and cons. I added a few more pictures for folks that are interested.

You wanted a couple more pictures of the Snugtop Rebel cap....

    Notes
The front window pulls in so you can keep both windows clean. (There is an option for pass through). It came with 4 keys (two duplicates), the "windoor" side windows are a separate non-directional key from the rear window lock. Inside, it comes standard with an LED overhead light and a double USB (A) port. The rear latch is the same as it was on my 2021. The rear window latches on both sides with a firm press to each bottom corner. Right now the windoor side pressurized struts are quite firm. In the three years I had the 2021 Snugtop, I never had any issues with the locks, struts, or window leaks.

I’ve seen some mentions. However searches turned up empty.

My previous truck had SCS Ray10’s in gunmetal. Matched up well with silver. I’m sure gloss titanium would, too.

Yeah. I did the Konig Countersteer Type X in matte gunmetal on my magnetic gray gen 3 Tacoma. Looked pretty great too. Almost went gunmetal again with the silver rig, but the matte black got the best of me. Can’t wait to get ‘em on. Stoked to check out some gloss titanium on the silver too though! Somebody’s gotta do it.

I think it might look better if you got some vinyl for the top parts of you fender so it flowed from the hood to a pillar but looks great.

Just installed the Sxth axle dump exhaust , it does make the exhaust tone deeper and I haven’t noticed any droning , I did only take it around the block tho

I also have a WildTop topper for my truck. So far, I am really liking it. I have not noticed a ton of wind flap noise. I want to be able to remove the top fairly quickly, and the current mounting brackets are not conducive to that. I am currently working on a new hold down design that uses toggle clamps. I will post pics once I get them completed. I did however notice your hold down brackets are bent midway down the long leg. Is this something you did or is factory? The brackets that came in mine are straight.

I bent the brackets. I am working with wild top to work through the issues I had with the brackets. They have been extremely responsive.
I had to make multiple modifications to the brackets to get them installed. The holes in the bracket were misaligned with the bedrail and the mounting bolts came with a square nut that sits too far back in the bedrail to get the nut and bolt to fit together without the bend to the bracket.

Did you have any issues with the install? I posted a couple of pre modification test fit pictures of the brackets for reference.

I also had problems with that portion of the install. It is what prompted me to look for a different style of bracket. In my former life I was a Jeep owner, and the hard top was held on by the cam style fasteners. I am a machinist by trade, so I decided I would try my hand in making my own brackets. I need to make the lower track bracket and install, which is on the docket for today. I will post pics later this evening I hope.

Very interested in what you come up with. I love it when people come up with ingenious solutions to problems.

I believe my solution for a relatively quick removal and reinstall will be to obtain some T shaped nuts to fit into the bedrail. The T shaped nuts can just sit in the rail when the topper is off.

Installed Runnin 4 Tacos high clearance exhaust on the truck today. Very happy with fit and finish, the added noise will take some time to get used to. The extra HP will be worth the little bit of extra noise. Can't wait to pair it with my SXTH Element intake coming at the end of the month.

I will get some sound clips of the exhaust when it's warmer than 5 degrees outside.

Nice! How bad is the added noise? Louder all around, like droning all the time, or just when you punch it? What's the estimated increase in HP? Sure looks great and I love the idea of adding some clearance.

Here is what I came up with. It seems fairly secure but need to do some testing. I am headed to the Oregon coast for the weekend so it will have a chance to see freeway speeds and winding roads. Next up I will put a load on the rack and see if it makes a difference. 20250213_190149.jpg 20250213_190153.jpg

    Very nice!
That is a very ingenious solution. I can see that the topper will come off in about 2 minutes. Hopefully there's no impact on the ability of the topper to bear loads.

the added noise is definitely there. i drive the truck in sport mode most of the time since i'm running 35s so the truck holds gears instead of constantly upshifting. i plan on getting some recordings later today of both outside and inside. not sure on added HP, but it does seem to pull harder in the mid range.

The topper moves a little upon giving it a tug. I believe I will pull it off in the near future and install some thin rubber or foam to the underside of the rails, which should stop that.
