It sure has been a lot easier dealing with the dry powder snow rather than the usual wet mashed potato snow we’ve gotten this year. Snow blower doesn’t like the mashed taters so much. Looking like single digits for next week through!

NWS Spokane Forecast Office issues the forecasts and KXLY4 on ESPN Radio said the Spokane area got 7" in three days. Rathdrum Prairie had a bit more... ('It's all microclimate anyway," said one of our USFS helicopter foremen out of Sitka.) Fortunately, I made my monthly bulk grocery stop Wednesday afternoon, so I didn't have to go anywhere Thursday, but watched the plows and deicing truck that morning as I got my fed and state taxes done, and did my 4" of overnight snowfall shoveling during the afternoon sunshine. Clear, cold and dry Friday, so after the morning with grandkids, mailed off the taxes (return receipt requested), and made a short grocery stop on the way home for raw Guernsey milk (glass bottled) and a few other items.

Yeah I’m just a bit north of you right on the edge of the snow belt. Even with the freezing cold when the sun comes out like today it just makes for a beautiful day. However I’m convinced that forecasting the actual weather here is somewhat rare.

 

Krrsantan had an active weekend!

Lots of couch lounging, running around like a crazy man, sliding under things, dropping toys in mom and dads shoes and blocking the TV.
He just turned 7 months and is now 14 lbs. He's been on a plateau of growth, but the vet and breeder both say he will be hitting another growth spurt between 6 months and 8 months.

Moving and all the furniture is stacked for movers. So of course, it's jungle gym time. I'm sure something will come crashing down at 3am.

I moved. Took two days for the cats to come out from under the couch. Eventually everyone gets hungry.
