Well, I actually can, however the settings do not save. As soon as I turn the vehicle off, they revert back to the default setting of 'On'.

This is the same with the "Break Alert" with the coffee symbol.

Also, does anyone know how to disable the "Caution: Roads May Be Icy" Alert?

So I havent had a 4th gen complain about this, but back when the Rav4 came out in 2019 it had similar complaints and the solution was simple.

Disconnect the battery for 10 seconds, reconnect. Then for some reason the settings would stay saved.

You cannot disable the idiotic cold message sadly.

Tried this today, sadly it didn't work. I tried it two different ways, disconnecting it first then changing the setting, and then tried changing the setting and then disconnecting, didn't save either time.
It's only these three settings that will not save. I turned off the backseat alarm and lane-departure alert and those have stayed off.

I’m surprised you want to turn these off. They aren’t intrusive and might keep you from running someone over.

I disagree. I've experienced a very large number of false alarms. I find the flashing lights and alarms distracting when I'm basically always looking for that traffic when needed anyway.

I'm not going to argue the validity of these features any further. If you don't know how to turn off these features, please don't contribute to this thread.

How did you turn off the back seat alarm?

7,000 miles and zero false alarms here.

Maybe you should refrain from being a douchebag.

The reminder can be turned off in the Tacoma settings. See owners guide screenshot. You can remove dings for all seats via Carista.

Like we tell our 11 yo. You can control your own actions. You can’t control the actions of anyone else. Hope your day/month/year/life gets happier.

Thanks...I have used carista. Just thought the alarms were within it and not Toyota settings. I'll go through those today. Appreciate the info.
