    @Strictlytoyz

Think I should just swap everything over from the XL chassis to the standard titanium chassis that just arrived.

Mainly because the XL chassis serves as a better platform for the long link length IE the Dementor links I've got on the way from Hard Park.

Not a bad idea. Gonna use one of the standard length cheat codes with a WT body. My injection molded rear super 8 is getting delivered today as well. If I can get that broken screw out of my other front housing I'll have an axle set for my next build

Injora 1/24 UTB kit. It does not come with a skid plate, so I picked up a brass one.
    Step one, build cage.

Transfer complete, not without multiple interruptions, cooking food, etc in between but it's done.

Have to say, it is much less forgiving for sure.

For starters, I'll need a new body.

Fortunately I can just pair my old body to the XL chassis so I'll have something to use for the second build, but the standard chassis needs a new one.

    20250213_153845.jpg

I'll have to play with shock placement as well, quite a bit more than the XL. Mainly because the C-Bolt length really makes you use the full length of your shocks.

On the plus side, I just kept motor and skid assembly intact meaning I didn't go unbolting and bolting things back up to my skid. This leaves me with a new untouched skid for the second build, and the extra Joey sent.

Only difference between the Standard chassis and XL is the added bracing on the XL, as well as the dual magnet design in the rear body mount.

The TRX4M Tarantula kit didn't come with a real skid either, just had to reuse the OEM plastic one, figured brass would get hung up on more stuff?

I have no idea what I'm doing. I was hoping for more bottom weight with it. As far as hanging up, it's a real smooth bottom. Pretty sure this will be a SWB rig...

I bought Gladiator and Dbolt links. The Glad fronts are the same as the C10, just wanted the extra length rears for something else.
Laying it out, the C10 links looked like the best balance. And I think they are.
Sitting on 68's, no shocks yet, so approximate ride height.

Everything fits well, except, there is shit for turn radius. Travel looked really good though.
68mm on left, 64mm on right. Barely as much as a stock axle.

So I stretched it. Used C10 rear links up front and Dbolt rear links out back.
Didn't look all that bad, a stretch buggy.
64's get damn near full turn, will prolly hit the shock first anyway as they stand up.

but the castor went to hell using rears as fronts and having ZERO adjustment in the front...
You can see it comparing the servo angles.

So this build is taking a different direction. Gonna go back to C10 links f/r, possibly 39mm shocks over 40's just for the smaller diameter, and stay with the 64's and see how it does. Those particular tires suck balls for grip, so I have no problem downsizing a bit and getting better rubber if it comes to it.

I think it was meant for the C10 wb. Castor restored.

Radius isn't that bad and will get better once it's sitting on the shocks.,

Your chassis swap motivated me to get the 3s on the truck. Here's the new weights with motor back to front mount and that chunky 3s on the rear brace. Still plan on going to a smaller 3s though.

I'd love to get a new weight on my rig, but not having a body or the magnets glued on won't give me an accurate number.

I can say the titanium chassis does weigh more though and it's slightly noticeable when picking it up.

Man, I can't wait for my shit to arrive.

Mainly because saving weight isn't an issue I've had on the first rig but now...maybe it could happen on the second.

Didn't think I was gonna have weight issues on my comp rig because my ascent is a fucking pig. That shit heaaaaaaavy! And it runs no issues :notsure:

My ascent without a battery

Got an accurate weight - I let the body sit on top of the build, and placed additional magnets in the body, and with a 180mah battery I'm at 459g total.

Guess the weight I lost switching to the NSDRC was gained back with the titanium chassis.

    Not a bad weight!

That's pretty dang light. Hoping I can be around the 470-480 range once I put the hard park wheel rings in my wheels. Bought a set of all 3 of their weights. Even if I run their heaviest one I'll shave around 24g

Trimming the fat. Down to 29g, with magnets, from 45g. Bug body weighs in at 23g.
Sunroof that will get some smoked "glass", high visibility door trimming and the hood chop to see the motor in action. Also removed quite a bit of crap from underneath. Still pretty strong.
I have one more going in green that will be unpainted. The first one I did has a few layers of paint and that raised it 4.5 grams all on it's own.

What made you decide against their axles anyway?

I had learned about the HP when I found an older discussion on reddit comparing them with the X15's.

Honestly it came down to the looks, color, and width :anonymous:
As much trouble I've had with the super8's I still think they look dam good.
