Have a 24 Trail hunter and brought it in for 5k Service. Was showing front Toe wear issues, the multimedia player started cutting out and the rear head rests rattled due to me keeping them in the down position.

    • Rotated tires and 8 hours of shop time aligning and finally set everything to specs. What prompted them to check was very slight Toe wear. Have to hand it to the dealership in that they worked on it an showed me final specs. Drive home was good. :)
    • They ran a check and found a code showing Multimedia issue so new system on order. Expect to see it in 2 weeks.
    • Rear Head Rests and this one concerns me. Response was we checked other Tacoma's on the lot, and they all moved and rattled the same way. It's a bad design issue as I've done this with many 4Runners and Tundra without any rattles. They did note on work order. That said, I will be in touch with the Toyota CS line on this. More to follow.
Last Item and some fun. Sitting at a red light driving home and F250 Super Duty pulls up in left lane. Yup, you know where this is going. He nails it on green and I roll into throttle. F250 jumps out a 1 1/2 car length and at this point the Tacoma is winding up. Impressive as I caught up even with them and at that point, they backed off the throttle. Have to say, this truck is surprisingly fast.

I do my own oil changes. I changed first oil change at 1K and currently at 4850. Will change again in a few weeks setting up 5K interval once in the spring and the fall.

ToyotaCare first oil change is @ 10k, unless requested earlier.

When I went in at 7k for my 5k service, they offered to do it early without me asking and I said no.

Understand, old school here. 5K interval and do 1st change on new engine at 1k.

Agreed, no alignment should ever take that long.

    Unless it was training day...:fingerscrossed:

Apparently, four times on the rack. I didn't say anything, but appeared it was their first Trail Hunter. The Senior Tech and Service Manager did the last two

He touches briefly on interesting point. Today, most trips taken don't allow the engine, trans and exhaust to come up to full operating temperature resulting in rapid carbon build up and excessive wear/tear. Cool down is important especially with Turbo's, but so is adequate warm-up. They work together.

Never have liked a mustang. Don’t look good, don’t sound good, don’t handle good, the list is unfortunately long. Fun in a straight line for a few times though.

Sorry - being a grouchy old fart.

All good. if you are ever in NE Pennsylvania, look me up and can take a quick ride. Might help changing your perspective. Both cars are set up for running twisty roads. Although, both will flat jump from a Wide-open throttle launch.

Mustangs have come a long way. Old Mopar guy, but do have experience with a 69 Mach 1, 351 Cleveland motor and one I wish I still had: 69 Mach 1, 428 Cobra Jet

Yep. Nothing in those days drives half as well as even a 20 year old mustang. they’re really good driving cars and have been for a while.
