How’s it work in whitetail America?? What seasons are you all using the crossbows?? I would have use during modern firearm in the state of WA… or have a disability or something of that nature.

In Illinois you can use a crossbow during all of the bow season, you can also use bow/crossbow during gun season as long as you possess a gun tag.

This makes sense, also would kind seem like a no brainer if given the choice? Do many guys or gals still use a compound bows then??

I have some experience in the world of bows as my brother and father have archery hunted in seasons past but really dipped a toe and zero as far as a crossbow so I’m just curious, thanks for replying!! I guess as far as my state it doesn’t benefit me a ton

Crossbows have become very popular, I would guess that 40% of bow hunters are using crossbows now but I have no data to back that up. I started using a crossbow about 10 years ago because of arthritis in my hands and shoulders, I’ve also had 4 hand surgeries. The crossbows today are extremely fast and extremely accurate, I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot a deer at 60 yards with either one of my crossbows. I would limit myself to about 40 yards or less when I was using a compound bow.

What holster do you use for your S&W Shield? I use the Blackhawk Serpa OWB.

I’d imagine! I’m not going to do any fact checking lol very cool, looks like itd be fun too!

Seems like it be a great option for lots of reasons, that being said I’m sure it doesn’t come without its own set of drawbacks or potential for complications just like any bow or firearm, lots to still go wrong that is…

Do they let you run an optic on it??

I think well over 1/2 of all deer killed with a bow in Ohio this past season were killed with a crossbow versus a compound or long bow.

But getting better is kind of a life goal, gonna keep the ammo flowing.

Honestly...its amazing. I've bought several pistols in the past couple of years and this and my CZ P01 are the two that I grab when I just want to fondle a gun. :anonymous: The grips, along with the heft of a metal frame...I like it!!

I'm 56, trying to hold off until I'm 60 before I switch to a crossbow. Not sure why, just kinda waiting.

Man best thing I did years ago was find a range that opened for an amateur league after the range closed. Started there and worked up to competing.

you’d be surprised at how good you get quickly when you’re forced to shoot, move, reload, etc under pressure
