Guy came and picked that trailer up before I got home yesterday. Cole went out and talked to him. Last night at bedtime Cole said he hooked the trailer up, grabbed the light plug and told Cole he was plugging it in for looks cause he knew none of it worked

Hopefully Cole will learn something from me trying to keep all my stuff in working order, and having him help me do it.

"Tree trimming investigation order number 023 has been generated. This order does not guarantee work will be completed. Our representative will investigate the situation to determine the necessary action. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention."

The company got the wrong focus, better sooner than later to have your decision made. :burnrubber:

Pipe fittings are all standard sizes, you never need to make anything.

Places like Slowes, etc usually have the fittings in plastic bags  and they will almost always be made overseas. :(

If you got to an actual plumbing supply house they usually carry US made fittings and not in stupid little bags.

I only use tape for 1/4" & 3/8" fittings, 1/2" and up use pipe dope (teflon paste) Hercules Real Tough or Rectorseal are my preferred brands.
    Don't start @Delta09 ;)

Pipe runs should be pitched 1" per ten feet of run toward a drain leg, the leg should be of sufficient length to hold a fair amount of water and have a valve at the bottom for draining said water.

Compressor tanks should have any moisture drained routinely, you can do this manually or with a programmable drain valve.

A short hose of full pipe size is recommended between the compressor & piping system to isolate vibration that can damage the piping over time.
My local hydraulic supplier made me one for a reasonable price.

The system should have a vertical riser at the tank, with drain leg at the tank, this encourages any moisture to go down rather than into the piping system.

All take offs should be on the top of the main line and again each take off has a drain leg.

    Air system photos:

The blue hose the Hydraulic Supply made for me, rated 2250 psi, I think it will do. ;)
Notice there is a union at the compressor tanks for ease of service if ever needed.

You can also see the riser with drain leg.
The male fitting is where I plug in the gas power compressor or my back up electric one. That is what the left outlet is for also.

    20250214_152544.jpg

The riser feeds throught a regulator set to 150 psi into this small tank, the tire machine requires the higher air pressure.

The regulator on the riser out of the small tank feeds the main shop line and is set to about 110 psi.

Note the tank has a drain also.

    20250214_152604.jpg

Take offs are on the top of the pitched pipe, this keeps water & debris out of the drops.

    20250214_152640.jpg

The bottom of each drop has a drip leg to catch anything just in case.

    20250214_152702.jpg

At the far end of the run is this second 80 gallon tank, again with a drain. This feeds the blast cabinet which is also equipped with a water trap.

now i wonder. has there only ever been 22 other reports of tree trimming needs to the power company over their companies lifespan, or is there 22 this year so far?

RE the previous POLL: Short Storytime, I had a memory float back from the deep while cruising down the highway today. In the late 90s I drove for Conway Western Express. It was an odd trucking outfit with a lot of weird rules and ways of doing things. A few of them made sense, others not so much. Anyway, one of there odd ways was to buy all of there trailers with landing gear crank handles on the passenger side of the trailer. I was told by the training manager that they did this to force the driver to walk around to the passenger side of the trailer so it would be seen and presumably inspected. Which from a managers perspective probably makes sense. But to those of out on the road dropping and hooking doubles and triples; two, three or more times every night it was just one more reason to curse management.
