    You guys are getting slammed!
We only have 4-8 inches coming, but it could end as freezing rain, so….got gas for the generator.

    Good morning :pccoffee:

Snow supposed to stop in another hour then I get to blow the driveway. Plow already went by which means it will have to again. And fill the end of the driveway in. Again.

More of the white shit tomorrow. Then temps drop, but no snow

    upload_2025-2-15_6-34-27.png

Come on next weekend. Already made reservations for shooting heated 5 stand with some friends. Been up since 4 but went to bed at 8:30 last night. As long as I was up early loaded up some 16 ga. hunting loads for next season

Started last Saturday and been knocking out a couple hundred a day. Up to ~2,000 now. The red hulls will look good sitting next to the purple and blue ones

Next week looks like a good week to keep rolling some more.

Good morning everybody. Time for cartoons and coffee. Have a great day!

It’s supposed to be sunny and warm today but the next cold front is coming in tonight. They have us under a severe thunderstorm warning and high wind advisory starting at 9:00 tonight.

The next shop has been perfect so far. Clean. Modern. Has been working with my adjuster to figure out everything Caliber got wrong. The results will be the proof, but I get a good impression so far. Plus, I didn’t see anyone over the age of 30 at Caliber. I did see anyone under 40 at the new place.

I love reloading. Something about the process shuts off the clock and the outside world for me. Listen to a book, and I can spend an entire afternoon down there. Ohm…

Love it when guys have the patience & skill to reload!
That's quite the variety of loads.

I'm a full time gun builder & shooter......... But have no clue what all those different loads do.
Do you actually use them in that big variety?
Would you care to share what some of them are?

Those things are incredible. I love my Tacoma, but it isn’t exactly quiet or luxurious. Between the ‘23 Tacoma and other sources, I have about $45k to work with. SR5 4-Runner would almost make it under the wire. I have to finance the gap, and I want to retire at 62, so I don’t want to be making any huge payments. I’ll definitely check out the Lexus. I’ve always wanted to drive one anyway.

Morning everyone :hattip:road trip to my daughters yesterday. Spent the night, too much good food last night. I’m up and ready to go, now where is the damn coffee maker, they have some machine that makes it, and everything else, can’t find the on button. It’s a smart house and I’m old and grumpy, I’ll take the dog for a walk :D

Good morning. A few inches of snow are on the way today with a changeover to freezing rain. Predicting a quarter of an inch or a little bit more of ice. Gas can is full for the genny.

I do and have another one to add to the stash yet. I only reload for the 16 and 28 gauges for the 12 and 20 buy factory not much money to be saved by reloading for those. I use the 16 gauge for bird hunting.

1 1\8 oz. of #6 copper plated shot @1200 fps in the Federal purple hulls, pheasants for training with the dog. Can use them on wild roosters in SD but prefer 1 1/4 oz. of #5 out of the 12 ga. on wild ditch chickens. Those wild cold hardened birds can be hard to kill with the layers of fat and down insulation.
1 oz. hard lead in the blue hulls at 1240 fps for grouse hunting. Late season when leaves are down and shots are longer.
1 oz. copper plated lead which is softer at 1240 fps for early season grouse. Shots are normally close and you don't get a good look at the birds just the blur of the flush. Open chokes are the name of the game then.
7/8 oz. #8 lead at 1200 fps in green hulls when targeting woodcock.

I got my 19 GX460 with 40K on it a year ago for $40K. The sticker was still in the glove box and was almost $80K new. I looked the VIN up on the mylexus website and it was maintained at Lexus dealers in Texas during the winter and Mn. during the summer. Perfect, meant salt free frame and owned by an older retired snowbird couple.

Called @Ret CB to talk to him about it first knowing that he owned one, and I trust Anthony 100% and then some. Everything he said was spot on and in the end he told me to go back and drive it. I did and it came home with me. Most of my life I have been the type to say give me a truck that I can stick a hose in to clean out the mud and all I need is just basic functionality. After having the GX not anymore. I drive a couple of hours to most of the places I shoot and now when I get out of the GX I don't hurt and feel the same as when I got in. Driving 8 hours to the Sunset Country of Canada to hunt I am not beat down anymore. The difference is night and day, it is a joy to drive.

Everyone complains about gas mileage on them but it really isn't worse than my 2nd gen Taco was. And better mpg towing the Polaris Ranger at ~2,500 pounds. And off road with some modifications I can now go anywhere the Taco could if not more.

I will be 67 soon and retired from the Navy 28 years ago but still working so I'm retarded Navy. But my job don't suck and I'm making more money than I ever dreamed of and plan on going to 70. That should put me at ~100K on it and the V8 does have some issues around then. Will decide at that point next step either sell it and go with a lightly used LX700h or GX550. Smart money is to keep it and do a waterside replacement of the radiator and water pump. And shouldn't have any issues after that for at least another 100K miles or more. Some of the earlier ones have had the typical Toyota valley plate coolant leak it has yet to be determined if the newer ones do or don't. Even if it does it is ~$1.5k repair and still cheaper than a new vehicle.

There are some having transmission issues at 150k+ miles but I noticed on iH8Mud that those vehicles are all in the South mainly Texas and Florida. Heat. And the stupid claim by Toyota\Lexus that the ATF is lifetime. I call BS and a simple drain and fill every 40-50k will help prevent that. And because I tow a $50 Hayden transmission cooler.

Tacoma averaged around 15 mpg in town and so does the GX, 19-20 on the highway. Difference is the Lexus drives so much better that I now call it smiles per gallon. Just saying...
