lol ok, nuts/bolts coming off and causing a crash risk isn’t a serious issue? It may be a quick fix but it’s still a widespread issue. Really the point is that vehicles and similar are constantly evolving works in progress

Except it wasn’t there were some found with the weld splatter and Toyota recalled all of them to make sure as it was a safety risk but not a “widespread issue” by any means. And no I don’t think even one had a lost axle reported and definitely no “exploding diff” as you first tried to sell it.

No offense, but I'd trust the opinion of a Tesla Driver's, a BMW driver (in that order) before I believe a guy with the first year of a new generation anything. Except 4th Gen Cummins, since the powertrain was on late 3rd Gen.

I'm glad you like yours, but, stop preaching, I'm not buying it.

You're somewhat right, but the TRD PRO was manufactured exclusively in Texas then they moved it in 21 to Mexico as well.
I also had an 2021 TRD Sport and it was made in Texas.

There's tons of auto manufacturers in Mexico. I don't see how that has anything to do with build quality.

Speaking of 4th gen Tacoma's. I like the new 4runners. (same platform) I might grab one, dunno yet. Ideally everest green in trd or premium or maybe a trail hunter trim.

I really want that Porsche 911 though. :fingerscrossed:

The new Tacoma's have their quirks and some issues are still being ironed out. 2026/2027 should be more refined.

Whoa, thanks for all your replies. My 2017 was built in Texas. We have not had a single repair on it actually. I upgraded the front brakes, but this was not a necessity. The sole issue with it is that it has max torque at 4600 rpm. Towing a recreational trailer gives it quite a workout. Our current trailer weighs 2200 lbs and that's no problem but going up another 1100 lbs will be demanding a lot more from this motor. Traveling north-south would not be an issue, but east-west is where we traverse several mountain ranges with long and steep grades. I'm sure that the gen 3 can do it but both it and the driver get a work-out. The 1700 rpm max torque of the gen 4 sounds most attractive.
