Just seemed to be a logical thing to do:

My tool room/workshop is cold, I can blow a jet engine heater in the doorway but oh the noise! I can't nap...

I can use an electric heater but they are S...o... S...l...o...w... :turtleride:

A dryer puts out about 3-1/2 times the heat of a conventional electric heater, about 18,000 btu. Hmmm...:transformer:

    1) Free dryer :D
    2) Dryer heats air
    3) Air drys the clothes
    Therefore
    4) Delete the clothes part
    5) Heat the air in my tool room
    6) Buy nothing
    7) :)

All the over temperature safety switches are retained so it is safe as a dryer - but with no lint. ;)

What about the burnt hair smell tainting the dog?

Sorry, couldn't resist, can't get past the hair clinging to the vent grill.

    100% on the repurpose scale!

Well fellers, looks like I have a date with a toilet tomorrow. Seems like the main, bigger siphon jet at the bottom isn't shooting any water out. I'm thinking I'll try a combination of some scraping/auger in that hole combined with either vinegar or clr.

I'm no plumber so I'm open to advice if what I'm planning isn't right, the u tubes can be misleading at times haha

Unusual for that just to clog…. Older unit? Maybe turn the water off and go through the bowl :notsure: In any case, good luck

    Nice score @RustyGreen :woot:

Got to ask though, hot dogs in the middle of winter? They’re off my menu from October- April

On the weather front, a few more 4-5” storm this week and we’re in the midst of ine right now guessed to be 8-14. It’s getting to the point where I’m running out of places to put it :annoyed:

Good morning everyone, I hope you don’t have to shovel and that you have a pleasant Sunday :hattip:

    Nice project @RustyGreen
I use to use the hot air coming out of our dryer to heat the downstairs.
    It worked …..
Should keep your feet warm and hot dogs ready at anytime….

Honestly at this point it's probably best to just replace the toilet with a new one. You can try and clean it out, but that buildup (hard water deposits, calcium, etc) is all the way inside and difficult to rid of. New toilets use less water and flush better. I have two Kohler 1.28gpf units in my house that work well.

Maybe. But, I'm of the opinion to replace a toilet every 7-10 years. That's just me though. I have a water softener so my old 10+ year old toilet had no buildup and the tank even looked new inside, but it used more water and I clogged it frequently...

    1954? Damn that's a solid(see what I did there....) 5+ gallon flush o_O

Probably fine for a infrequent used bathroom, but as a main toilet in a household like mine that's a LOT of water! I'm not like a big conservationist kind of person, but I do what I can.

Well, that makes for a crappy w-end. :rimshot:

Usually a good cleaning/scraping with some nasty chemical will get things working. The amount of build up over time in the rim jets can be surprising.
Unusual for the siphon jet to actually clog.

    Try using one of these:

    s-l400.jpg

A kerosene siphon is useful for getting most of the water out so your chemical is less diluted. Wear safety glasses.

You can get them at any hardware store or The Mart for a few dollars.

I do try to conserve as well, I'm generally the only one there so not much use.

The thing has a brilliant flush system that never hangs up.
Some years ago the lift rod corroded away, a repair kit was only about $5 at True Value.
