Good morning. A couple of inches of snow fell before it changed over to rain. And it’s 29F outside…

    Good morning everybody.

They had put us under a tornado watch about 2100 last night to go along with our thunderstorms and high wind warnings. We had some strong storms roll through about 0400 and the wind was blowing but it didn’t seem that extreme.

@US Marine Chuck, sounds like you had it worse than us and you can for sure keep all the snow!

A week ago, my lawn was grass. Wed, we got over 6" of snow and Fri night through mid-afternoon yesterday, we got another roughly 8". It looks like winter now, but I'm over winter. Maybe I should go skiing...

yea we have had a ton of rain this weekend. took the snow away with some stream flooding. and another winter storm Wed. could be another 12” storm. good weather for maple syrup making. lots of moister increases the sugar content of the sap. freezing at night/above freezing in the day makes the tree sap run good.March is syrup making time Here.we made syrup at the homeplace when i was young. and over open wood fire to boot. they cant get that flavor with todays equipment:thumbsup:

Well, the snow has been cleared. My house, my mother’s house, and then I took care of my sister’s house. Heavy cement stuff with about a half inch of ice on top. Had to karate chop my way into the truck. Got a back rub from wifey… with Bengay…

Yup, I’ve been using it every day. I can only imagine the electric bill. Already bought a few rolls of filament and will put in an order for a filament dryer.

Ice, freezing rain, and snow have broken our favorite tree in our back yard. Japanese dwarf maple next to our Asian pond/landscaping. Wife is pretty sad about it.

Growing up we used to take some out of the vat in the sugar shack when it was close to being done and drizzle it in the snow outside. Maple taffy. Snow is usually pretty dirty that time of year but a little bark with it never hurt anyone. Although if it was pine pitch kind of ruined the flavor. And yellow snow LOL.

Our kids grew up only having maple syrup. Now they're all adults- they only have real syrup. No fake flavored corn syrup.
Except my middle son who moved to Alaska- that's birch syrup!
