replaced throttle position sensor and drove it around the block and the truck completely shut off. the only fuse that blew was the efi fuse, replaced the fuse but cranks and doesnt start. no check engine light when the key is in the on position but all the other dash lights come on and my obd2 scanner does not connect to the truck. am i dealing with a fried computer?

We could test powers to the ECM.
Then grounds if we need too.

What year truck, what motor, automatic or manual, 2 or 4 wheel drive. Makes a difference in the wiring diagram(s).

Do you have a voltage meter or a test light?

You need to see if you have power to the E5 connector.
    Pins 2 (black/yellow) and 12 (White/Red)

Just because you can, check that EFI fuse again.
Male sure it hasn’t blown again.

    @Glamisman can confirm.

there is no no power and the efi fuse blew again. does this mean there are wires touching eachother somewhere? before this i put the old tps back in to take away variables.

I’d unplug the TPS and see if the fuse blows.
If it does, it’s not the TPS.

If not, Then I’d plug the TPS in, and see if it blows.

a short in the TPS wouldn't cause the fuse to blow but the EFI fuse does feed the Idle Air Control Valve which is right there by it so I'd look and make sure you didn't pinch any wires there while you were working on it.

Was the TPS unplugged when you checked them?

    Did you ever unplug it?

And has the fuse blown again since?

Sorry for the late reply. I just got home.

Ok. Lets check the OBDII connector.
Just to get a couple power/grounds out of the way.

    On your meter.
    Check between pins:

    16 and 4
    And 16 and 5

You should see 12v with the key ON.

So, Red lead on pin 16.
And Black on 4 and then 5.

Be careful. Don't jam the leads in to hard or far.
We don't want to bend the pins. You might use a small piece of wire to help if needed. (paper clip...)
