My dad says it needs to be adjusted and he'll do it(he's a master mechanic for 50 years) but I just wanna see a video of someone doing it so I get an idea and can see it. I did a quick google and couldnt find a 4.0 engine lifter adjustment video. Maybe Im blind. Can someone post a link to a video or tutorial of it. video preferred.

There are no lifters on the 4.0L in 2nd gens, they use direct acting buckets with shims and thus are inherently noisy.

The shimming adjustment process is quite lengthy and invasive and is rarely done/needed unless the heads are rebuilt or the cams are removed for some reason.

Yea these are quite different from old pushrod engines, alot of people hear the ticking noise these make and get concerned but almost all of them tick.

Check/adjustment procedure attached below if your curious but it's not something I would ever do unless I was having issues or doing a rebuild.

Yeah, my old T-100 with the 3.4L 5VZ-FE, was kind of a noisy engine as well.
That thing was still ticking like a sewing machine at 328,000 miles when my nephew finally sold it to another kid in the neighborhood....
