Trimming needed for… same size tire as stock??

    I had the exact same thing happen when I put 31x10.5s on my 99. Slight trimming required. More when I went to the 32s

    you can try to max out caster to pull the tire forward, but that takes a pretty compliant alignment shop. I just went at it with a heat gun and trimmers

    you can see below with the 31s how rearward the tire sits when even slightly turned

    Thank you, this is actually super helpful. I was going to do the pinch weld mod today after doing my fuel pump but didn’t end up having time. It mostly rubs when I’m in reverse so I figure it can wait another week. Just good to know someone else has had the same problem

    It was a while ago, so I’m remembering now that it took some trimming on the pinch weld, not just the liner. Eventually got it cleared.

    But you can get 32s to clear with a big enough hammer

    Eh, I’m not chomping at the bit to go to 32s, I just bought these 31s and with the kind of wheeling I do (read: light to moderate) the 31s are just fine. On the other hand at least if/when I do decide to size up I’ll already have the pinch welds taken care of.
