Are malls even still a thing? Kids probably ask "what's a mall?"

Power is out here, 3rd time in a week. Yay.

 

It was a whiteout early with sideways slushy snow. So now there's 2" of slush ice with a 1/2" of fluffy snow on top and still coming down with a fine crystallized snow. Doubting the kids with have school tomorrow with the roads completely untouched. Buses and cars are stuck everywhere.

 

At the neighbors’ house with my girlfriend, watching the SNL 50th anniversary special, and we lost power due to the high wind…

 

All my neighbors have recycling bins they set out on trash day. It’s a square bin with no lid. On windy days I spend a few minutes cleaning up all the plastic bottles in my yard and deposit in the garbage…

 

The power came back on in a little over an hour, but I took these pics while walking back home from the neighbors when the power was still out. That brick house in the distance has a whole-house generator; I took these pics at 9:46pm, 9:47pm, and 9:48pm respectively…

 

My parents’ house at 9:49pm…

 

The neighbors have battery-powered candles; I thought these were plug-in until tonight…

Also, the girlfriend and I went to Walmart earlier today, and this shitbox is still sitting there almost a month later…

 

Good morning PA. We got another 1/2 inch or so. It's cold out there. The dog better do her business quickly this morning.

 

By the time I got to work , probably 3 inches out there. Practically a white out when I got near the city. Roads all covered , windy .... @MoneyMan55 you better get that ground hog.

No snow, but the wind has been relentless

 

Yep, went out to shovel before I left and had to find the garbage can and garbage that was in it.

 

After last nights fiasco I've been hoping it stays in an area where they can pick it up. Right now the lid blew open, but everything is bagged.

I did the deck and sidewalks again, only to have flurries start to blow when I got near the end of the job. I have 1 1/2 bags of ice melt left. I think I'll make it. After this cold spell, the weather reports are back to normal. I have to drop my wife's Rav4 off for inspection, emissions, etc. I asked the grandson to drive. got to get acclimated to driving in bad weather.

Lights flickered a couple times last night but never lost power. I know some other areas around me did. Including the retirement village which is a 55+ development. Which isn't any good. But that development is old af so probably none of them have stand by generators.

 

FUCK THIS COLD, AND THIS WIND!!!
