Good morning stockers. There's a nasty windstorm that's been going since early this morning. I expect to see some missing shingles, the entire house has rocked a few times.

    2 1/2 hrs and done.
First time ever I had to use 1st gear on the Ariens.
We got a good old average storm for up here.
    Roof raked
Drying out the equipment with the salamander.
    Some coffee and eggs.
Now to watch the neighbors struggle as the wind is starting to whip up.
Can you say IN YOUR FACE !!! LOL….

People really need to watch the forecast..

Same...just wrapped up. The sleet layer wasn't nearly as hard/crusty as I had expected. And there wasn't much on my roof...had the correct wind I guess. Still did it and then did a couple passes around the house to clear it away.

With the sun angle higher now, it's nice to get meltage even with temps below freezing.

I must be stupid. I'm flying in to Maine tomorrow and renting a Malibu (or similar).

Gonna be a strange week, travel will be a challenge and I've got family spread far and wide. Worst part is I'm leaving people home and we're supposed to get more snow here as well, and I'm the cleanup crew. Oh well. I guell they'll be missing me.

This has been an interesting winter to say the least. Hope everyone is well.

Wanna shout out to my good man @Sig45

    Backstory:
My daughter married a good man. Honest. Works hard. Takes good care of my daughter and grandaughter and knows how to stretch a buck. I'm very thankful.

BUT, when it comes to mechanics/construction/handyman sorts of stuff...well, he was simply never shown how.

A year ago they had a baby on the way and had saved enough to buy something, their 1st something. Not an easy tasks for non-degreed kids these days. They found a nice small house in a decent location, a small structure that had belonged to a neighboring church, obtained and 'upgraded' to residential by a contractor. (pessimists can already see where this is going)

This guy did nothing correctly. I can't begin to list all the half ass 'lipstick on a pig' corners he cut to get this to market. Who I'm really pissed at is the inspectors, who raised no issues or sounded no alarms. My kids didn't know what they were looking at, and those that did just wanted to tick the boxes and get paid.

Well, there have been a lot of phone calls since, and this winter has presented to new issues that I can't diagnose or offer suggestions for over the phone.

Cue Mark. I asked if he could put eyes on it and give a baseline assessment, so that as they speak to contractors they at least know they aren't making stuff up.

He gave some of his time and really put my kids minds at ease. They are still gonna talk to the contractors, but they're doing so from an educated position. I'll be out there this week and can help them come up with a plan of attack, but man was it nice to feel like I was doing SOMETHING to help from far away, and I don't have to tell you guys that SIG45 keeps plenty busy and didn't need more tasks to address.

Thank you my friend. Hopefully I can buy you a dinner this week in appreciation. Maybe get Mike to stop polishing his balls for a couple hours and join us.

See if you can't get it to stop snowing, ok?

Biggest. Scam. Ever. After learning the hard way ($$$$$$$$), I now recommend to people that they hire a general contractor to come in and look at everything, as they will see things as potential work for them.
