Calamity tacos build thread that was for a tacoma but now is for a ford! crazy times we are in!

2 rims, tires, hubs, sprocket, spokes, rotors, tubes, and balanced and bolted together. honestly a good deal for it all.

i will need suspension on my truck before i do anything like this that is true but i do miss having a supermoto so prob will build mine to be one for street riding and swap back and forth for dirt like i did with the drz.

This is the bronze I will be going with for my motorcycle wheels! This is just a tube that was hit with a wire wheel so not properly done. But the color looks great next to the green on the bike!

 

I'm 50/50 if I should coat my new wheels with this and doing a black lip what you guys think?

 

fighting with the wheels some more! i decided to try and polish the wheels again but ive found a lot of deeper scratches in-between each hole in the design that i cant seem to sand out? idk if anyone in here has polishing experience but any would help!

left wheel is hit to 600 while right is just 120

 

We got the wheels coated. There are some I perfections with stuff in the clear in spots and somehow we got purple powder in one wheel also lol but for our first time doing this and for 20 bucks? They are fine.

Found another cheap thing on marketplace lol. Some raptor style fender flares for 90 bucks! One flare has a bit of damage where idk what happened to it and working on fixing it and sanding them down to prep to be painted the same satin grey as the front bumper

 

The flares are on and idk how but using the same paint it's a different shade lol.

 

Now you need bigger tires!

 

I do kinda wish I got 34s... But I am happy with my 33s for now..

 

looking at doing another trailer project tbh. ive got my little utlity trailer that is well paid for and cheap. im thinking about not only adding a small gate on the back so it makes it easier to load things but also make a rack that can bolt and unbolt from the metal sides for a tent.


yes our end goal is still to have a camper but would be nice to be able to go out and camp like i want to as well with the bikes or dirtbikes.

they really are man! ive been looking for used ones but shit most people selling them still want close to new price!

i like how strong the diamondback covers are but man ive never liked them haha.

but for sure cant beat a deal on a scratch and dent that you cant even see lol

 

I had one of the SE on my tacoma. I've got my fair share of complaints about it and didnt put one on my tundra. when they released the switchback, it addresses most of the things I didnt like about the SE. Its a lot easier to remove partially or fully to actually use the bed.

im wanting a rollup style so it can be rolled up and out of the way for loading bikes or any use needed for the bed.

other thing i want is it to be off the bed rails so i can get the racksetup done for a tent for off grid camping with a buddy of mine. (yes still plan to get a camper buuut we want to do stuff with the house first this year and look into a camper next year)
