I made a bracket for my ARB twin air compressor. I bent some sheet metal, drilled the mounting holes, and added anchor ties to keep the top heavy part of the bracket from moving as much while it running. I have a few other designs but since I can’t weld, this will have to do for now. Works great.

I had to remove my large washer fluid tank to make room for a winch controller under my hood. The stock location was empty, And I noticed the coolant reservoir tank had the exact same shape I needed to get Get under the airbox mounting bracket.

I ordered an extra coolant expansion tank and drilled the half inch hole and mounted the Toyota grommet and washer fluid pump near the bottom. It worked out really great, I’m going to 3-D print some sort of bracket for the filler neck area, but a zip tie works great for now.

Today I replaced the valve cover gaskets after 453,000 miles and 24 years with only 200 dollars in Toyota parts and lots of degreaser. I Only broke 1 stud off of the engine block, but it seems to run fine.

Greased the driveline. Did it just because I figured it probably hadn't been done in forever, and accidentally solved a driveline vibration that had me thinking I was going to need to go to a shop to get the driveshaft rebalanced. Power of new grease, I guess.

On a completely unrelated note, the zerks in the double cardan joint are a nightmare to lock a coupler onto and I hate them with a burning passion.

Took the rent and rack off, put on the soft topper for moving into the new house. I'm very excited by the garage space with space that will be my fabrication shop.
This also is probably the best this truck has looked in my opinion.
Tons of work to do one the garage and new house.

If greasing the u joints solved a driveline vibration, most likely one of them is on the way out and pumping it full of grease just temporarily slowed it down. Expect the vibration to come back - it’s probably the u joint at the rear pinion that needs to be replaced.

For those that have put a cage in their rig. (This is for the 4 Runner, not the Tacoma)

I'm considering the 4x Innovations roll cage
    https://www.4xinnovations.com/96-02-4-Runner-Internal-Roll-Cage_p_142.html

Here's my thoughts. I get that I have a bender and I could (theoretically) build one from scratch. But I've never built a cage before. I'm wondering if doing their cage would give me some experience in doing one, and I could use my bender to add some of the things I'd want to add, to get it closer to a "sanctioned" cage. (Like dash bar and additional triangled supports).

    Am I over thinking it?
