I haven't ever been to a dentist here, even as a kid. Also haven't been to one since before covid

I remember when I bought the truck they wanted to up sell me on a system. It was a hard pass but I didn't realize it was already installed.
I'd like to add a remote start but don't want it to be a hack job.

no judgment here, I went over a decade without seeing one after I lost my dental insurance in my early 20s. Lucky for me I just needed an extended cleaning when I finally went again.

side note - having the dental assistant use one of those razor sharp metal picks and putting their weight into it to scrape the back of your teeth makes my butt pucker like no other

Do you have a bad tooth ache there? I've never needed a root canal before but I imagine the tooth aching would make it pretty obvious something was fucked

My tooth broke months ago, it's been hot and cold sensitive since but started hurting last week.

That would be pretty nifty to have. I need to replace the battery in my FOB...been acting like it's dying (have to press it a dozen times to unlock/disengage the alarm). If it dies completely I'll be SOL, opening the door with just the key sets the alarm off and starter interrupt

oof yeah they are probably right then. Root canal happens when the root gets infected so if it was a bad chip that went unaddressed I could definitely see that happening.

guess you could shop around for a better deal but it's kinda one of those things I wouldn't want to find the lowest bidder on

My union dental will cover 80% of a root canal. Its 80-100% for most things. Unless its a surgery then its 50-80% depending on the treatmentz

My wife's covered 90% so we are too, cleanings I think she just pays like $25 and the rest is covered (she recently had surgery done).

But insurance companies in general just suck. People pay a shit ton only to not have their coverage comp the entire cost of say, a root canal like Jaxon needs (or whatever other people need).

I remember a buddy of mine paying over $1,500-2,000/mo for him, the wife, and two kids.

Yeah alot of policys for people suck. Im lucky enough that i get mine through the union. My wife and kids get the same policy as me for dental and medical. The union package covers it so it doesn’t come out of my pay which is nice.

Yep, that's how it is for teachers too

But if you're not in one of those fields like you or her (or with a union in general), coverage pretty much sucks for everyone else

I think dental schools offer free dental work for students to get their practice in, could always hit one of them up and hope you don't get the one guy that's about to learn he's not cut out for it

The company the union partners with i get pretty good life insurance for the whole family. The kids policy is cool to because when they turn 18 they can convert it into a full policy for them selfs

They mess up and you get it done by a vet not a doctor.
