I wouldn’t bother, Man. Once they’re frozen they’re pretty much trash. I went through 6 shell invincible’s until a savvy parts guy noticed all the lot numbers were the same & found out the whole skid was frozen in Edmonton. Even slight plate distortion (zinc) & they fall apart easily too.

It probably does but I'll ask anyway. Does that apply to AGM batteries, too?

When this happened to his battery last time, it made it a full year until it got stupid cold again before he had problems.

You might luck out. The Focus is on #3 for basically the same reason. Just make sure to leave every possible electrical circuit is set to max upon installation or you’ll get “I had that set just right” when you’re frozen & done.

Plot twist the van isn't sold, the girl I was dealing with must've not liked my first without seeing it number. I halfway want to fly up there on principle and kick tires and waste their time. But I want this van. Decisions decisions....

$205! That must some nifty battery.

Yes, driving 6 blocks at a time is deadly to batteries in general - 5X more where you live.

If it frozen it is probably damaged internally, I wouldn't trust it.

That's pretty normal for anything north of 800cca.

Also doesn't help that modern vehicles don't really "charge" a battery, but merely maintain it. All in the name of fuel efficiency :jerkoff:

A six block drive isn't gonna charge shit. He needs to give that thing an hour long Italian tuneup once a week.

Interstate AGM from Costco. If I'd have bought the same battery from Interstate, it was $280 vs Costco's $180.
    It's 650CCA.
I've told him that he needs to drive it more but you can guess how well that's gone.

I had my wife call the dealer about 15 minutes before they closed. She asks about the van, the guy says yeh it's still here I'm looking at it right now. My wife being smart says ok and what is your name?

Of course the guy says oh I'm Hunter. I know I'm not the only Hunter on earth but what are the odds. I can imagine Kylie and Tommy sitting around 15 minutes before close and boom Hunters name pops up on the caller id. She says this dudes cheap mess with him and say you're Hunter.
I gotta decide what I'm gonna do now that I finally got my rugrats in bed...

The dealer I dealt with in NY said they sold the truck I was looking at as well. When I messaged them back and said ok thanks anyways I had a salesman text me to ask me when I wanted to test drive it. They’ve upped they’re messing around game I’d say.

Cold batteries are grumpy of they aren't charged. It's been negative here for a few days. I have the tacoma in the garage right now getting warmed up and on the trickle charger. It's the oem battery from when I bought it 4 years ago so can't be too safe

I have purchased very few vehicles from dealers - I'm not really in the dealership demographic I guess. :D

My truck did come from a dealer, it was 2 years old. My take away from the dealer experience was the general state of disorganization in the entire sales department.

We had arranged to pick the truck up at 4 pm.

When we went to pick it up they knew we were coming from 2 hours away -
    First, it wasn't ready
Second, when they finally went to get it ready they couldn't find the keys

Knowing we had a long drive ahead there seemed to be no concern nor embarrassment that we were waiting for a paid for truck and had this scheduled in advance. We ended up leaving the dealership around 7:30... :annoyed:

Third, when I did the deal there was only one key, part of the agreement was they would give me a second key, "should be about a week."

It took several weeks and polite e-mails to higher ups giving the names of people I had worked with to get a simple key.

Heck of a way to run a business.
