    Ouch.

You know that warm, fuzzy feeling that you get when you think that you nailed an interview?

I have no idea how that feels today- could someone 'splain it to me? o_O

For a company that uses Solidworks for designing/manufacturing parts for van conversions/upfitting, you'd think that they would use a PDM system for file management. Nope, they have NO PDM at all, everything is scattered across 3 hard drives with absolutely no P/N system or project association or anything..

Houston? We have a problem. Yesterday during the storm, I was cleaning off the truck and had to load up to go to my mother’s house. The tailgate handle (Pop’n’Lock) was very difficult to release the tailgate but it opened. I had to put a bit of force on the handle to release the latches. Today, she won’t open… Looks like I have to fish a coat hanger to flip open the Backflip cover and then investigate how to get the tailgate to release. I hope I don’t have to cut a hole in the plastic. This will have to wait for warmer days but my shovel is being held hostage in the bed of the truck.

Plastic-y cover comes off the tailgate about 100 torx screws. I had an issue with the pop lock, it was locking by itself every so often. So I accessed it and greased it up, now it locks by itself all the time.

I've been in my current job for ~24 years now, and am old enough that if I had to go through the whole job process again I'd just retire for good. But that feeling... I always assumed the worst and kept looking. Even though there were times I was sure in the back of my mind that I nailed it. Was never disappointed that way. Put a half filled glass of water in front of me and ask if it is half full or half empty I'm grabbing it and slamming it down the hatch and saying it is empty. Good luck if it is the job you want!

Before this sit down gig I was in the field and did a lot of things in a lot of verticals. Including designing and implementing vaulting systems for Solidworks, Pro/E and AutoCAD. Those Xrefs in AutoCAD were a real PITA back then, likely still are. I regular seen some real chit shows that made me wonder if they didn't make money despite themselves instead of because. Until it got bad enough that I got called in. Which was usually when the engineers got together and finally convinced management it was time to put all the chit in one sock and tie everything together. Of course the managers got the credit for the productivity improvements instead of the engineers.

Can't like that Michael hope you don't have to go out in it!

My PopNLock broke about 5 years ago. So long as you can access the inside of the closed tailgate you can unscrew the panel and open the tailgate. Luckily for me I didn't throw the factory tailgate latch away and was able to put it back to stock. If you didn't you'll need to order a new handle.

A little of this and a little of that.
    Good evening everyone

Really hope they get your truck repaired correctly Bill.

I won’t lie, I laughed out loud Paul. My high and tight haircuts aren’t what they used to be either. :anonymous:

Good grief that’s a lot of water. Glad you are safe Tom.

    Dammit Andy. How’s the concussion?

Never good when you have to break into your own truck.

My parents are in Geneva, NY and the worst of the storms seem to be going North of them, although they’ve had their share of snow as well. Stay safe Michael.

My power lock on my tailgate has been acting up lately too, I believe it’s from freezing after car washes….

The force is strong with this one.

Rugby will sometimes use a talon, hook into a vent hole on the pizza tray and remove the roadblock so that he can climb up the shelves on something that he's not supposed to climb on. Last weekend when I was visiting, I put a Greenie treat right behind the pizza tray to see what sort of solutions he would come up with. He tried with all of his might to reach around and underneath but couldn't get it. Today I got this pic when she forgot to push the chair back under the desk, Rugby wasted no time figuring out how to look for the treat that was still there.

Well…the old adage whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger is not ringing true. Fever finally broke this afternoon after 6 days. I’m alive, hacking up a lung, and weak. Good news I guess as I’ve lost a few pounds, finally ate something tonight besides crackers and water we will see how it goes. Bad News…Just in time to care for the wife who got blindsided by it last night. Stay Well…Stay Safe

That stinks. Did you do tamiflu or was it too late for that? Rest up!
