I can complain about some of the dealerships in Fargo from attempting to work with them in the past but I really can't complain about my last few vehicle purchases.

My truck - My wife brokered the entire deal over email. They drove the truck to my house from the dealership 2 hours away, we signed the paperwork in my kitchen.

My wife's Highlander - We did everything at the dealership in Minneapolis. The entire process took less than 2 hours.

My son's Elantra - All paperwork done online, they drive it to my house from the dealership 2 hours away.

There’s 3 factors that affect your sale: 1) Dealership 2) Salesperson 3) Finance Manager. If any of the three like “games”, it’s not going to be smooth. I always go in with a I want a straight up deal. No BS, I want to be in and out. Fly in, minimal paperwork and out. ALWAYS be ready to walk away. It’s business. A bad deal is ALWAYS a bad deal. Consider financing for 90 days. There is ALOT of incentive for financing on their part. If the deal doesn’t front load and has no payoff penalty, maybe consider, or wait to refinance with you preferred lender (hint, credit union). I wish you luck!

Short trips in freezing temperatures are killers for a couple reasons.

You’re familiar with the battery issue. Another is not getting the engine oil up to temperature. Sludgy oil does not protect the internals as well as oil up to temp.

i make it a point to add a few minutes and plan trips more methodically in winter instead of just bopping down to the supermarket that’s about a mile away.

    Good morning everyone :hattip:.

    Several famous Wrenchmen born today.

Alessandro Volta, 1745-1827, inventor of the battery.

Armand Peugeot, 1849-1915, he began manufacturing bicycles and then automobiles.

Enzo Ferrari, 1898-1988, y'all know what he invented.

I hate it when I'm near done with some parts and realize I've killed them cause I didn't read the print correctly. Didn't notice the step and machined them to the smaller number. Oops.

Called the plumbing supply place last week about 1/2" pipe. They said $21 and change. I went there yesterday and a friend I used to hang out with a lot and do some work for was working the counter. He retired from the F.D. and works there part time.

Told him what I needed and he said we show to have 5 pieces in stock. He said before you pay let's go make sure.

They had 2 pieces of 1/2" and some 3/4". I said I drug my trailer all the way from Va. and I'm leaving with 5 pieces of something.

We put it on the trailer, he went back in while I strapped it.

I got a bag of 100 1/2" crimps rings, two 1/4 turn pex cut offs, and some 1/2" pex elbows as well.

He said it's your lucky day on the pipe, 3/4" is the same price as 1/2" today :bananadance:

He charged me $17.76 for the pipe.

Figured while I was driving the truck and it wasn't raining I may as well swing by Lowe's and use part of the gift card my wife's cousin gave me for Christmas and bought a door for the shop project.

Got a small start on that when I got home. A lot of the studs will be treated, I'm using left over boards from the deck. Ripped a 16' 2" x 10" into studs :anonymous:

Good score on the 3/4" - better for your main runs too.

You probably know (some folks won't) the threaded "couplers" are only thread protectors and not to be used for actual pipe work.
